Why does iOS 8.0.2 not resolve the issue of WiFi connectivity with iOS 8 and the new iPhone 6?

My iPhone 6 is still randomly disconnecting from my home WiFi, even after the latest OS update. My spouse also has an iPhone 6 and has experienced no issues with WiFi connectivity. When I spoke with Apple earlier in the week, I was told that they were aware of this issue with iOS 8 and would be working on a solution that should be released in 24 hours. I have a $700+ phone that doesn't stay connected to WiFi. Ridiculous. Apple really needs to get it together. This is the worst OS release yet.

What I found out on my new iPhone 6: It does not get any WLAN connection automatically. It sees the WLAN but will not get an IP address when "talking" to the DHCP server. This applies to 8.0 as well as to 8.0.2. Only if I use static IP settings the WLAN connections works well.

So it seems that the WLAN module basically works and reception is OK as well. But it cannot manage to get an IP address once in DHCP mode.

I have tried on 5 different WLANs/routers where iPhone 3GS, 5 and 5S will all get IP addresses w/o. any problems.

This probably has been the best thread to demonstrate it is not just an Australian problem. I got a question booted because I was asking how may iphone 6 people had issues with original 8 and then with only 8.0.2. (it is in the rules for this community). My problem is all the news sources of apple things have forgotten about this issue with 8.0.2 and apple is busy moving on to selling in new countries and the things of next month (new imac, yosemite release, and such). They may not read this but they sure pounced on my question polling who had this issue.

Wife and I each had an iPhone 5 and we had the wife problem after updating. We upgraded to the 6 last week and still having the problem, even after the most recent update. All of you people that keep telling others to change their wifi setting from WPE to WPA...please stop giving out bad info. That is not the problem and will to fix the problem. If it does for you, then it is just pure coincidence, as that is obviously not fixing the problem for everybody. I have a Netgear dual band router and my 2.4 band is set to WPE and my 5 GHz band to WPA and both bands are having the wifi dropping out. It doesn't matter if I disable one band, switch all to WPA or WPE, or whatever troubleshooting being suggested, the problem still exists. The problem is with iOS 8 so please stop telling others to change their wifi encryption settings. Besides, logic dictates that should not be the resolution to the problem because when you go to a public wifi spot, you can't change those settings. Type of router encryption did not matter with previous iPhones and iPods, so why would encryption matter now in the most advance iPhones yet? It doesn't. I've never had problems connecting to wifi like I have with iOS 8. You can play around with settings all you want, but this is going to be a problem with the software until Apple gets it fixed, which hopefully will be soon.

Why does iOS 8.0.2 not resolve the issue of WiFi connectivity with iOS 8 and the new iPhone 6?
