ios 8.0.2 battery drain issue for iphone 5

HI,

I m using iphone 5 from past more than a year but i never face any battery drain problem and I m proved to tell my friends abt the great battery life of my phone.

but the problem is when i updated IOS 8 suddenly my battery life come down to half of the previous life. This is just because of no 2G option everytime we have to use only 3G and in 95% places no proper 3G signals and when we start browsing and using net we cant imaging how the battery will come down.

When all the mobile service providers are giving this option why only the apple removed.

When apple developers thing this is not mandatory option in the future at least try to develop how to give battery life as what we are getting in 2G service.

Or please advice me how to re install IOS 7.

I am fed up with being advised to switch off this and that in order to save the battery life. I want to use my iPhone without any restriction of services or reducing the brightness. I want two things from Apple:
1. to release a simple and power efficient operating system;
2. to produce powerful batteries instead of thinner phones.

Hey Everyone,

Not sure if this is the root of everyone's problems, but it definitely was the root of mine. I updated to ios 8.0.2 and my fully charged battery drained in about two hours, despite my normal usage.

Solution:

1. Delete email accounts (for me it seemed to be my Microsoft Exchange email address)

2. Reset phone

3. Add back email accounts

4. Forgive Apple for their mistake

I won't bore you with the details but I realized my phone was repeatedly trying to fetch email (my setting was every 30 minutes). I put the same setting on when I re-added my account and now my battery is at its pre-update efficiency. If you have an Exchange email on your phone, it is definitely worth a try.

Hope this helps - good luck!

My iPhone 5 was also recently updated to iOS 8 and has severe battery drain problems. I would go back to iOS 7 if possible but Apple won't allow that now. This is unacceptable. If a software update can cause the battery to drain more then Apple should be able to figure out a way to make another software update fix the problem.

Fix the problem Apple and stop draining my battery which is costing me time and money.

Another reason I will looking at Android when I am eligible for a phone upgrade.
