ios 8 Push Email Delays

Since ios 8 release (including on 8.0.2), a number of users within our organization have noticed delays in Push email being delivered to the mail application for activesync (exchange) mail connections.

This hasn't ever been noticed on ios 7, but consistently since 8.0 and 8.0.2 were released.

Anyone else seeing this issue? I have verified it is still setup as PUSH for that profile. We use Maas360 as an MDM tool also but changes there.

It's been over a week and this seems to have resolved the issue for us. So to recap:

1. Increase the queue length in the default app
pool and MSExchangeSyncAppPool from 1000 to 10000

2. Check your Exchange virtual directories for stale virtual directories that have a GUID in the
name. Rebuild them if found.

3. We ran iisreset on the server, rebooted the iphones after doing the above. On some devices we removed/re-added the accounts.

I have had this problem with my @icloud.com id on ios mail app ever since i know (even in ios7). The mail app doesnt update the unread mail count and doesn't download new mail until the mail app is opened. Everything works fine on 3rd party mail clients like outlook even with @icloud.com id. The issue is specific to the Mail app.

Like i have always said in many other threads on many other issues on these forums... for once, Apple needs to slow down on releasing new tech and fix everythinng it already has, especially for software issues. It just ruins the apple experience.

Most third part apps dont have the simplicity, integrity and elegance the apple apps have in UI and ease of use. I dont know about others, but i dont like using anything else for stuff that apple already has a hardware or software for. Seems apple doesnt care about this sentiment.

The same situation happened to me, where my email notifier wasn't working in "realtime". My notifier sound only activated after I had opened my email icon (iphone icon).

Thus, I fiddled with the popularly suggested without success:

Settings -> Notifications -> Mail -> turn off Allow Notifications | closed Settings | went back to Settings and turned on Allow Notifications and push alerts started to work again -not really.

Since I was an avid Gmail user via my iPhone, I decided to download the Gmail App. for the iPhone. I then replaced the original blue colored email icon (iPhone icon) with the Gmail icon. My notification delays were resolved instantaneously.

The solution above only resolves the email notifier issue- only if you're an Gmail user.

Hey folks. I'm having issues with Gmail on my iPhone 6, which uses the 'Fetch' method as there's no option to choose 'Push'. When I get an email to my Gmail account an alert comes up and it just say's "Loading..." but nothing else ever happens after that. Is anyone else having similar issues? Many thanks to anyone that can shed some light on this.

I have got this exact same problem with my gmail (exchange) account after upgrading my iphone 5C to IOS 8.2 from iOS 7.1.2. I can be a day without mail notification and when I enter the mail app I am flooded with all the waiting mails. other mail apps works fine, it is definitely a problem with the apple mail app in IOS 8.
