iOS 8.0.2 Did not fix BlueTooth issues!

I see everyone posting ways to fix this but nothing works. It may work for a short while but then goes back to unable to make or rcv calls on BlueTooth in the car.

CNN Has finally picked this issue up. Hopefully Apple will now do something ASAP! I am ready to take my phone back and get a competitors model.

It does not matter how many times you reset all settings or network settings or wipe you cars bluetooth memory or change the phone name, etc. It does not work. I have been struggling with this since launch day of iOS8. I have 2 iPhone 5's with the exact same issue and they had no such issue for 2 years before iOS 8.

For those who post things like "The reset worked for me!" I ask that you shut your phone off or do an iTunes sync or backup and then let us know how it's working. Probably no success. It will revert to the same bluetooth issue.

I am terribly upset over this. I can't believe that Apple of all companies would have such a problem. It should "JUST WORK" but it doesn't. Very sad.

I do hope something gets done this weekend because I am ready to return it and move on to something else. Don't get me wrong, I am a huge Apple fan. I have a couple iPads, a MacBook Pro, Apple TV, 2 iPhone 5's, 1 iPhone 5c and an iPhone 6 now. But if this doesn't get fixed soon, I have no choice to dump my phone and move on.

The worst part is that we pay so much for a premium product and I don't expect these "amateur" issues.

Also people forget about going to your car dealership to get a bluetooth update as the Apple support people are telling everyone, including me.

So, please, Apple... Don't leave us hanging like this.

same here, iPhone5s iOs 8.0.2 & JVC Radio Unit, now every 5 minutes the radio is calling a certain phone number all the time (started with 8.0 ;-) had no time to check on that, i think they changed something on the bluetooth protocol (or whatever) because of handoff ----> so therefore we have now "hands-on" in the car ;-)

i will try deleting and new pairing, if that not works, same with changing name of device, wish me luck guys... 😝

I almost expect that there will be bugs, what I find stunning is the total lack of support for this issue from Apple. As far as I can tell they haven't officially acknowledged it yet. I think most of us can appreciate that things don't always go as planned, but to not even show the slightest amount of support or concern publicly is disturbing. I know Apple reads these posts because they have deleted some of my previous posts when I have talked about how to temporarily fix the problem. Come on Apple, at least acknowledge that there is an issue.

This must be your first rodeo with a new product from Apple? They have a storied history of not making public announcements about issues. Instead, they work very hard behind the scenes on iOS updates, which historically do resolve issues. Don't think because Apple hasn't publicly acknowledged the issue, it isn't being worked on. Every major news outlet has reported the bug and yes, Apple does monitor this forum. They just don't reply. But they're aware and working on a solution.

I have the same issue with my iphone 6. I'm still running iOS 8.0. The HFL in my 2008 Honda Accord refuses to work consistently with this phone. I had no problems with my old 4s. Every time I make a call using my HFL it either drops the call completely or just drops it on the HFL and shows it on my phone (but the other person can't hear me and I can't hear them). Also had the HFL be completely unable to make a call even though it shows everything is paired. Then there are times where the HFL and the iphone 6 don't even recognize each other to pair. I've tried resetting my HFL, my phone, and turning the Bluetooth and phone off and on with no luck. Completely frustrated at this point.

I've been talking to an Senior Applecare advisor for a few days. He got some feedback from an Engineer and asked me to do the following:

If you can’t connect to a hands-free Bluetooth accessory, can’t make or receive calls when you’re connected to Bluetooth, or can’t hear sound clearly when you’re on a call using Bluetooth, these steps can help.

To resolve the issue, you'll need to first sign in to iCloud and review your devices:

  1. Sign in to iCloud on your iOS devices and Macs with OS X Yosemite (available this fall).
  2. On one of your devices, tap Settings > Bluetooth and look under My Devices. You'll see all devices that are connected to Bluetooth, but make sure that you see your Apple devices that are signed in to iCloud and are using iOS 8 or OS X Yosemite.
  3. Sign out of your iCloud account from any devices that you don't want to use. To sign out of iCloud on an iOS device, tap Settings > iCloud > Sign Out.
Then, remove any inactive devices from iCloud:
  1. Sign in to iCloud.com.
  2. Select Find My iPhone.
  3. Select any devices that aren't active anymore.
  4. Wait for Find My iPhone to stop trying to find the inactive device.
  5. You should see the option to remove this device from your account. Select it to remove the device.
After following the steps above, restart the device with the issue. Then try to use it with your Bluetooth accessory.
I had an iPad Air and this new iPhone connected to iCloud. I disconnected the iPad per these instructions. I was hesitant but tried it this AM; My iPhone 6/IOS8.0.2 was able to connect and make a call through the car for the first time since this fiasco started. I can't remember if I've seen this fix on this thread, but it was pretty easy to do and seems less painful than some of the prescriptions I've seen here. I am eager to find out if it will work throughout the day. I have yet to turn iCloud back on with the iPad, it will be interesting to see if things go south again once I do.

There may be two issues here. As pointed out in the many responses above the most common problem is not pairing, it is that when a call initiates it reverts to the iPhone rather than handsfree. This is quite dangerous for an incoming call. It seems there may be a secondary, less common, issue of just simply no being able to pair.

Apparently the 8.1 beta goes part/all of the way to correct this problem. Fingers crossed.

Yes Apple we who can’t use our Bluetooth connectivity completely understand why you would hold the fix in 8.1 release until October 20 so a few people can get killed driving without hands free capability so you can get Apple Pay out in 8.1. Tens of thousands of loyal Apple customers are finding good reasons to leave Apple. It ain’t mystique anymore. Its brash stupidity and indifference. But remember good Apple company-Stupid Is As Stupid Does. My advice of the day- sell Apple Stock short. It’s a long fall from being king of the mountain.

Think your customers are angry? Ya think?

Same issue here; older iPhone (4S) running 8.0.2 on a 2012 Hyundai Azera limited. Spoke with Apple support; got the standard 'go to the dealer', dealer had no information outside of that the phone manages Bluetooth connections. Car works great with my wife's S4 and my work S5, so it's not a hardware issue. Was about to get the 6, but not sure now. I can not be on the road without a BT synced phone!

Another note - Siri issues also, when using Siri, my phone screen on console appears to be dialing either no number or my VM. Never had thes issues with 7.
