iOS 8.0.2 Did not fix BlueTooth issues!

I see everyone posting ways to fix this but nothing works. It may work for a short while but then goes back to unable to make or rcv calls on BlueTooth in the car.

CNN Has finally picked this issue up. Hopefully Apple will now do something ASAP! I am ready to take my phone back and get a competitors model.

It does not matter how many times you reset all settings or network settings or wipe you cars bluetooth memory or change the phone name, etc. It does not work. I have been struggling with this since launch day of iOS8. I have 2 iPhone 5's with the exact same issue and they had no such issue for 2 years before iOS 8.

For those who post things like "The reset worked for me!" I ask that you shut your phone off or do an iTunes sync or backup and then let us know how it's working. Probably no success. It will revert to the same bluetooth issue.

I am terribly upset over this. I can't believe that Apple of all companies would have such a problem. It should "JUST WORK" but it doesn't. Very sad.

I do hope something gets done this weekend because I am ready to return it and move on to something else. Don't get me wrong, I am a huge Apple fan. I have a couple iPads, a MacBook Pro, Apple TV, 2 iPhone 5's, 1 iPhone 5c and an iPhone 6 now. But if this doesn't get fixed soon, I have no choice to dump my phone and move on.

The worst part is that we pay so much for a premium product and I don't expect these "amateur" issues.

Also people forget about going to your car dealership to get a bluetooth update as the Apple support people are telling everyone, including me.

So, please, Apple... Don't leave us hanging like this.

A Solution! My Citroen C4 is experiencing the same issues. Overcome by using "Hey Siri" turn it on in settings. Phone has to be charging and just say "hey Siri call......" etc and now my phone is truly hands free. The button to hang up still works yet the "speak" button is not given enough time by phone to register what I say or it just crashes straight away. Some apps have also stopped working. I now use full site or android mobile versions (shock horror!) on my phone & iPad instead. I was going to upgrade my 5 to the 6+ & now holding off until my 5 works as it should.

Same exact experience on 2010 BMW 328i. Although bluetooth connection to BMW appears active, when incoming phone call arrives, my iphone 6 presents me with options, one of which is bluetooth. If I choose it, then it works but I can't be looking at my phone while driving every time a call comes in. Kinda defeats a big advantage of bluetooth.

Also, as you mention, Siri works flawlessly through the car's audio system. I believe Siri uses a different bluetooth standard.

Apple really needs to fix this asap. It's a safety issue, not to mention an annoyance. Yes, first world problem, no doubt 😉

Im happy for those of you that have working Bluetooth. I would appreciate a clarification from those that this is working for. Did you update your phone or was this a new phone. Was this a new set-up?, After updating to 8.0.2 my iPhone 5s no longer works in all three of my Vehicles a 2008 BMW, a 2011 Chevrolet Traverse and a 2010 Camaro. All fairly new cars. Mind you that the previous versions of IOS 7.1.2 worked with all my vehicles. Thank you for your help.

If there is an APPLE representative monitoring this forum, please reply.

This is just for my own situation, it appears that any existing pairing between the phone and the car before the update to 8.0.2 would have problem. With an existing pairing, I deleted the device (car) from my phone, then I went to the car and deleted the profile of the phone. I actually had to log out of iCloud because one of the device was grayed out and could not be deleted, the device was gone after logging back on to iCloud. Then I went to the car to pair the phone again as if it had never seen it before, it paired, phone functions are all good and I could use steering wheel as well as button control on my car to answer, talk and hangup. However, I still have music streaming issue with this car. In another case, the iPhone 6 was never paired with the car, but upgrade to 8.0.2 was done first, then paired with the car for the first time ever, all phone functions and audio streaming work flawlessly. That is why I think part of the problem could be existing profile before the update.

But Forum "support staff" do.

Your iPhone(s) work. Great. Ours don't. You know it, we know it, Apple Inc knows it...

Those of us posting on this Forum are looking for answers not platitudes from sycophants. I have asked you before: please go the the "I love Apple They're Great" site:

You can't censor me, so don't try. I've been here far longer than you and I'll be here long after you've slunk away. I've stayed with this thread because I have friends who can't connect via Bluetooth and I've actually been able to find things for them to try to get connected.

You say forum staff do participate. Yes, they delete nasty posts. They ban people. They modify inappropriate material and if a thread goes unanswered for a long time and it's not controversial, they'll sometimes answer it. Otherwise, they are not allowed to participate in discussions.

Mr rbrylawski

All three of the cars don't work after an upgrade to 8.0.2 and I have tried with the 5s and the 6+. I purchased the 6 2 weeks ago but sent it back to apple since it didn't work in any of the three cars. I've tried the phones with some of my friends cars but neither the 5 or 6 worked after the update. I've tried re sync, logging out of iCloud, erasing and re syncing to car and phone. A lot of time with no luck. The other cars are a 2013 Corvette and a 2014 BMW 6 series. The same thing happens, dropped calls and no sound through car audio on all attempts with two different phones. I would have to conclude iOS is the problem. Do you think apple is monitoring this forum and in your experience with Apple, is this something that is small enough of a problem that doesn't warrant attention? Maybe you are right, a small number, a few thousand or so, and it may not be enough for Apple to worry about. Anyway I appreciate your desire to help. I'm glad your bluetooth is working.

Regards

I am sorry your iPhone experience wasn't so smooth. I do understand how utterly frustrating it is for something like Bluetooth not to work. It goes to the root of safety while driving. I get it. I really do. That said, I have no inside knowledge if Apple reads the forum or not, but I would guess they do. What I do know is that this issue clearly is being addressed in iOS 8.1 and I know this because too many reputable publications and developers have said it does. So the short answer is Apple is well aware iOS 8.0.2 created Bluetooth issues and Apple will address this in the next iOS update, due in about a week.

iOS 8.0.2 Did not fix BlueTooth issues!
