Try a reset: Simultaneously hold down the Home and On buttons until the device shuts down. Ignore the off slider if it appears. Once shut down is complete, if it doesn't restart on it own, turn the device back on using the On button. In some cases it also helps to double click the Home button and close all apps BEFORE doing the reset.

Also, clear your browser cache: Settings app > Safari > Clear History and Website Data.

I Have to power cycle or reboot the iPad Air frequently due to WiFi hanging.

Also had to change my cookie setting to allow cookies. I did not change it but after the 8.0.1 update I couldn't log into several websites I have accounts on. At least I can now log in. Apple must have changed the cookie handling or default with the update.

as to quality of the update, these problems are pretty pervasive hitting many if not all platforms. I used to work with Microsoft on testing their updates and these problems stopped happening years ago. They know how to test unlike Apple. Looks like Apple is living in the good old days when they made good software.

get the problems fixed and test, test, test and do it all again before screwing the user communities.
