iOS 8: App Store Updates Do Not Clear

In iOS 7, the apps listed in the "Available Updates" screen of the App Store will be cleared the moment updates are synced over from iTunes. However, in iOS 8.0.2, the list is not cleared after being synced with the updates.

Even if this is something new in iOS 8, where the updates will be listed for a few days or weeks, the badge still shows the number of updates available when the apps have been updated.

How did you reset.... you don't mean restore right?

Can you be more specific. Thank you.

Did you reset all settings? (not Erase all content and setting)?

What does reset all settings do... sounds painful to re set up everything.

Reset means reset -- press and hold Home and Sleep/Wake buttons until you see Apple logo. No loss of data, and you don't have to re-do any of your settings. This is what I did.

As for how I loaded 8.1, I always do it via iTunes as the OTA update has burned me before and I end up restoring from iTunes anyway.

Oh. I thought you meant using settings to restore. Thanks.

I'll try it next time. For now I have been updating twice to get rid of badges which is ridiculous. (After updating via iTunes then OTA to clear badges).

Problem only occurs with updating via iTunes. Which is only way I have ever updated anything.

If you update OTA the badges go away.

My problem started this week after ios 8 update.

I like everyone else have the same issue where the only way to clear the badge is to update through the device. I have always updated via iTunes because I have multiple devices (a couple iPhones and iPads on my home network) some have apps that are very large ie. TomTom 1.5GB, many games in the 1-2GB range. I always updated via iTunes so I only have to download the updated app once; but, thanks to Apple's new approach they want us to download all updates via the device so I can eat up my cable internet downloading updates instead of watching Netflix, streaming sports, you know the other stuff we pay for. I believe what needs to be updated is iTunes and the recent one didn't do the job.

Hi, I just want to say that this bug or glitch or whatever, is still exist in 8.1

I don't know if this has anything to do, my last update was using cellular data. I found that some of >100 MB apps can still be updated with cellular data. I just pressed manually "update" of all the available updates and some of them with >100 MB size could download.

This Available Updates bugs is really annoying, especially the number badges on the Appstore icon.

This problem just started for me with my most recent updates and I'm still on version 7.1.2 on both my iPhone 5 and iPad 2. I can clear the red badge by turning automatic updates on and off, but that does not clear the list of available updates in the update section of the App Store. Doing the reset process suggested in this thread did nothing to clear either the red badge or the list of available updates
