MSDS for iPhone 6 Needed

Many hours of head banging against the wall and here I am……

Please help.

I need to obtain for my sister the MSDS for the iPhone 6 or more accurately the battery - my sister, not realising Apples hatred of mobile phones BEING mobile and therefore movable from one country to another, thought it would be nice to buy me an iPhone 6. It was nice, I’m in Bulgaria and they have only released the 16gb here and its £920.00 (that is 6 months wages here) but now she has to actually ship it to me. Which is about as easy as shipping packets of white powder from Columbia apparently.

The MSDS - which i rather thought they were obliged to publish or at least provide upon request - appears to have the security status of Polaris Launch Codes. Please help as Bletchley Park is no longer in operation and i don’t know where else to look!

Thanks in advance!

I agree Meg St_Clair, but I didnt. I just replied to it - he/she must have edited it since. ON the other hand there is nothing rude or disrespectful about these comments is there?

"Agreed.

This is ridiculous."

"I think it is in the lining of your tinfoil hat."

I genuinely did not realize that it was laudable to publicly parade ones ignorance and bigotry in this way, I'm grateful that until now my life has rotated on a different plane to this revelation and I pray that, baring this brief intersection, it continues to do so!

Posts can only be edited within 15 minutes of being posted. Your edited quote was made over 24 hours after pogster originally made the post. You edited the quote and misattributed it and now won't even own up to it.

Pogster - Im sorry I did not read your post correctly. They DO get shipped all over the world WITH one as you say!

Let me clarify for you. The "one" I was referring to was the battery.

Materials Safety Data Sheets really don't apply to internal components - only user replaceable ones.
If your issue is shipping, you do not need a MSDS to ship a phone. You only need to indicate the device has a lithium battery. Apple's packaging meets the requirements for battery safety, and if it was shipped from Foxconn that package is obviously acceptable for shippers. If she's having issues shipping, suggest she contact FedEx, UPS, or DHL international shipping directly. Most consumer shipping locations are franchises that may not have experience with international shipping.

You come on here cracking all kinds of humorless remarks, then press the issue with some misguided notion that you need an MSDS for something that is a manufactured product, which is absurd on the face of it, and everyone here knows it. How in the world did you imagine that someone on this user to user forum, where Apple isn't present, could somehow magically produce an MSDS for something that doesn't require one?

Then you go on to post numerous ad hominem attacks, and stick your nose in the air as if your "superior knowledge" proves you right.

Admittedly, my remark was intended to be snark. You shouldn't take yourself so seriously.

He "edited" your quote. But, your clarification works just as well.

Please God let this be an end to it. This is taken directly from TNT's website. Please look at UN3481. My contract is with TNT. Now I have been told today (by TNT) that if substantial additional packaging was added, Li-Ion battery stickers were added and various declarations filled in they would previously apply this "TNT Express will accept "Excepted" Lithium Batteries for transport but only if they are shipped in line with the applicable regulations." on the basis that the internal insulation and integrity of the telephone design minimized the risk sufficiently. However, and I had no idea what this was until 2 mins ago, in light of "Bendgate" this policy is suspended pending investigation and they now class as "As a class 9, full dangerous goods shipment: only from specifically approved customers and with restrictions for the different origin/destinations, and services/products offered." But this may only apply to air transport - I did not ask.

I did not ask for this information on this forum so I could be abused, nor in fairness did i come on here to abuse anyone else. I came on here because TNT wanted an MSDS to ship this telephone. Although in fairness to this post:

If it is so dangerous, why in the world are you going to all this trouble to get one?

George

Having just googl'd "Bendgate" I'm not entirely sure I DO want one! I dont fancy the idea of sitting down with it in my back pocket and it braking full stop, let alone shorting and setting fire!

Yes, God, please let this be an end to it.

This is a user to user forum.

Apple is not here.

If Apple can't or won't supply a MSDS, no one here can do so.

If because of "Bendgate" (already proven to be a farce) the phone is too dangerous to ship, a MSDS is meaningless.

No one here cares if you use the phone.

(My iPhone 6 Plus is in Shanghai on its way to me for Thursday delivery. I hope it doesn't spontaneously combust.)

It's been a long time since the last post here, but this is a universal demand. So here goes:

I work in a freight forwarding company.

Go to the bottom of this page: https://www.apple.com/legal/more-resources/gtc.html "APPLE AND BEATS PRODUCT INFORMATION SHEETS".
