Incorrect sorting

Since I have updated OS X to Yosemite, my file sorting has been... odd. This is both in Finder and Evernote. I have a folder of folders named with a single letter to test the sorting. It goes like this:

A

B

C

D

E

F

G

H

X <=

I

J

K

Q <=

L

M

N

O

P

R

S

T

U

V

Y

Z

W <=

Is there any explanation for this?

I'm on a new Mac Pro running 10.10.5. I had the same issue of files not being sorted by name when "arrange" was set to arrange by name. I did not even see a "sort" option. I had to type "sort" in the finder help search, then "sort by" came up, and holding my mouse over "sort by" an arrow showed where I could change to sort by name. It's located exactly where "arrange" is under "View". Very odd, but changing the "sort by" did the trick for me.
