Unable to pair my macbook on iphone 6 via bluetooth

I am unable to pair my macbook pro (os x 10.9.5) on my iphone 6 (8.0.2).

I can pair my Klipsch bluetooth speakers but not macbook. When i enable bluetooth, i cant see iphone ever detecting macbook.

Does anyone having this issue? or any solutions?

The Mac Bluetooth is not designed to connect to iPhones as it is for things like speakers, keypads, earphones and such only.

System prefs > Sharing.

Select Internet Sharing (but don’t click the box to the left).

Select Share you connection from: Ethernet and tick Bluetooth PAN (Personal Area Network) in the box below.

Then click the box to the left.

Now open Bluetooth in system prefs.

On your iPhone, open Bluetooth and your iPhone should show up in Bluetooth prefs on your Mac.
Select it and you will be asked to verify a 6 digit code to complete the pairing.


Note that Internet sharing is NOT the same as paring with bluetooth to transfer data between devices.
