incoming calls ring on multiple phone numbers
After getting the iphone 6, incoming calls simultaneously ring on my kids' phones that are also on my account. How do I stop this from happening?

Try Settings>Phone>Calls on Other Devices. Then turn it off.
On iPhone 7
Go to settings - phone- calls on other devices- turn off
Your problem will be resolved
You mean just like the post right above yours says? What about the posts in this thread that say it doesn't fix it?
On your handset: settings>phone>calls on other devices, and switch off 'allow calls on other devices'.
Thank you for posting the same advice for the 5th time on just this page, and countless times on other pages.
Sharing an Apple ID is always a misteak.

Incorrect. Calendars CAN be shared IF YOU CHOOSE TO DO SO.
I turn off Facetime and Handoff on my second device that resolved the issue.
