iPad 2 keeps crashing rebooting after ios 8 update

Since updating my iPad 2 to ios 8 I have had numerous problems with it, first thing that happened was the accesscibility features came on and would'nt turn off, had to attach to my mac and disable them in itunes, also while this was occuring the ipad 2 kept randomly rebooting, this is still occuring, I have so far done a soft reset and a hard reset, I've done a restore, I've updated to ios 8.2 and still the same things happening, this is starting to get very annoying.

iPad 2 was working fine until this update . . please can anyone assist . . .

hi there… how to revert back to 7.1.2… please advice. thanks.

It's not possible because Apple has never had people revert to a prior system since the beginning of iPhone and iOS.

Since you haven't said what the problem is, I'll give you a troubleshooting methodology that I've posted recently ...

Follow this procedure for a Troubleshooting Methodology ... basically reset to factory default condition -BUT- be sure to do the following methodically and also to follow the part with Apple Support!

First you want to make sure you have several backups of your data and done with a couple of "different" sources. Be sure to understand what data is backed up and what is NOT on iCloud Backup and iTunes Backup. Use a variety of methods for backup ... you might check into Dropbox, in addition to your Apple options.

Then turn off your desktop anti-virus software when using iTunes for this reset to factory default. After you do that reset, then leave your iPad in its factory default state and see how it operates then. If you encounter any problems in that factory default state, then take it to Apple Support, and let them know that you have just reset it to that state with iTunes and have not put any of your data back on and it is operating in this fashion (whatever the problem is) in that pristine state. Make sure you keep that trouble ticket number, because if it has to be escalated through Apple Support, you're going to find all communications tied in with that number. If the lower level help isn't able to help you, then escalate it to a higher level to examine the problem. Keep at it with that trouble ticket number until Apple Support arrives at a solution to that problem. Be methodical and keep at it.

On the other hand, if everything is okay with the factory default condition, then restore your backup. Some people have discovered that the problem resides in the apps or something in the restored backup. If that's the case, then it's going to be trying and difficult to find out which developer's app is causing you the problem. And ... it's true ... that a developer not following Apple's instructions and guidelines for his app can CAUSE YOU TROUBLE. This kind of thing does happen from developers, especially when a new system upgrade comes out, because some developers ignore what Apple tells them about changes coming, and what they do BREAKS SOMETHING.

This is a troubleshooting methodology that you are going through. See it through to the end.

While it is true that you can't revert to 7.1.2 now, it was possible for a while after the advent of 8.0. I know this to be true because I did it, about 72 hours after Apple bricked my iPad mini. Furthermore, I did it using Apple's own iTunes procedure. I am only able to write this note for having done so, as the device was totally worthless running version 8.

Our iPad 3 was lagging and crashing as well with IOS 8.1... I did try iCloud drive for a while, but had not disabled it after choosing for OS X maverick on my macbook.

I recently disabled the iCloud drive and things have improved for the ipad, however this is just a few hours ago.... I know that some of you disabled all wifi traffic with inconsistent crashing behaviour. Its just a guess since the iCloud drive is new to IOS 8!

IOS 8.1.1 Even Worse Than IOS 8.1 For IPad - There is simply no end to the catastrophe that Apple has created for my IPad 2 and for thousands of other folks as well with the IOS 7, and now IOS 8.1 and today, IOS 8.1.1. Now, my photo album is completely frozen and Safari freezes constantly and as done nearly every other app. Firstly, there should not be these kind of breakdowns in a $500 device that is not even two years old, much less ALL of the problems are being created by the defective system updates being released by the manufacturer of the product, Apple. Apple should be forced to buy new devices for all of us who now have unusable devices due to product defects being created by Apple. It is highly, highly unlikely that I will ever buy another expensibe Apple product and their refusal to fix the mess they have caused me borders on violations of Fair Trade Laws. What a shame Apple has done this to me and other long term Apple customers. A real shame! I am warning every friend I can not to buy any new Apple products. And I have a lot of friends, 600,000 of them on my various blogs and email accounts.

As previously mentioned I've been in contact with an Apple representaive regarding my issues and they finally took crash/istack logs off my iPad 2 on Wednesday and I was still awaiting a response when iOS 8.1.1 came out, so emailed them to find out what they had been able to ascertain from the log files and what they wanted me to do next :

The response I received was the following :

"As you may know, the iOS 8.1.1 is available and this update should resolve your issue.

Could you please tell me if you did the update and if the issue is resolved or not ?"

So there's no mention of what the crash logs have said or whether the logs identified the problem, just "Install iOS 8.1.1 and it might work now ?"

Well I've been trying to install it for the past few hours with no success, constantly tells me there were errors with the restore and bombs out . . . this was on a Windows PC, I am now attempting it on my MacBook and will let you all know what happens, will also be letting the Apple Representative know . .

I'm concerned that the original download of ios 8 has damaged the hardware, making any ios update effectively redundant. I do not know if this is possible but until shown otherwise what am I left it!?

Good luck to you all with the new update, my reckoning was it couldn't get any worse so didn't hesitate in downloading.

Not only have Apple destroyed the ipad but I now have to explain to a three year why she can't watch Netflix. This severely impacts on me because my tv now plays Nick Jr instead 😟
