iPad 2 iOS 8 storage being used when streaming videos (TV Shows) no way to delete or find the videos? Am I missing something?

As it's been reported many times already there is a bug in iOS 8.x that keeps the user from deleting videos that have been downloaded to their device. This bug only shows up when the video is not downloaded manually but played directly. The video data is saved to a temp location and doesn't get registered to the OS correctly making impossible to clear the storage being used by it. You can verify this by going to setting->general->usage->manage storage and noticing that the video app is not present and then by going to general->about and noticing the number of video present on the device. This amounts to a storage space leak.

I figured it out by using the following method.

Try to remember which movies or TV shows you have watched(been streaming).

Click the cloud bottom to download them(disregard how much space you have currently).

IOS will transfer you to iTunes and start the download(s).

Click the edit bottom on the top left, and delete the download(s).

Done.

Maybe crippling user's storage is now a feature of iOS?

i believe this bug is happening with iTunes Match and music, too, because i dont watch videos on my iphone 6 plus, but i do stream a ton of music through itunes match, and my phone keeps running out of space (64GB), even though in the storage settings it says the largest user is my Messages/Texts at about 4GB.

This is what I discovered as well. Works great, but my iPad is still showing 1 video somewhere. At least I was able to remove the other 13, which were taking up about 5gb. I haven't tried this yet, but next time I'm going to try syncing the videos with iTunes and then deleting so i don't have to wait for them to download.

To date this issue still has not been resolved. I finally ran out of space on my iPad today and had to figure out how to fix this issue...signed out of iTunes/App Store and signed back in reclaimed FORTY GIGABYTES of space. Yes, that is 40 GB.

Cannot believe Apple has allowed this to continue. iOS 8 has been a travesty of bugs that go unaddressed.

Common sense solutions don't apply.

Go into settings>iTunes & App Store. Log out. Log in. Storage reset. Problem solved. It's a bug.

I had the same problem until about 5 minutes ago. All you have to do is go into Settings> and scroll to iTunes and AppStore. Open and sign out. This gained me almost 50gb so good luck!

Power off the iPad wait and turn it back on again. Check the Usage. Mine went from 256MB to 4GB. I was watching a few TV shows and it gave me a warning about storage so it looks like turning it off/on clears the streaming cache.

As I view iTunes movies on my iPad Mini, storage space diminishes as the files are downloaded.

I am unable to reclaim the storage space by deleting the downloads because crappy IOS 8.2 does not provide the required access.

The only way I can remove downloaded iTunes movies from my iPad Mini is by selecting "Settings/General/Reset/EraseAll Content And Settings" in order to wipe everything off my iPad as if in preparation for a new user. Just like a clean install on a PC I suppose.

Try holding the top button and shutting it off; this worked for me however when I upgraded to the latest version I got even more memory back.
