how do i convert a eml photo to a jpg

I received an eml photo and forwarded it but receiver could not open it and requested I send it as a jpg file.

iMac, OS X Mavericks (10.9.5)

When you open the eml file in you remain client can you drag the photo to the desktop? What format is the photo then?

Open Preview and then select File/Open or else select the file at the opening screen.

When you double click on the file you dropped on the desktop what App opens to view it? Sounds like you dragged an EML attachment that was sent to you that contains the photo.
