iphone 4s downgrade IOS 8 to ios 7.1.2

Have been extremely happy with my iPhone 4s here at work. So much so I got lots of people into the iPhone world when I did.

Always done updates except now it looks like that may have got me unstuck.

IOS 8 has some wonderful features, except it make my poor old 4s run extremely slow.

I tried to downgrade it without success.

Is there going to be any resolution to try and fix this?

Also it seems to run a little faster when connected to charger. Is there something to do with CPU power saving that is slowing it?

What do I do? This is a work phone, it needs to be good.

My Mac keeps saying i'm having the latest version iOS 7.1.2 when my iphone 4 is plug in ....I kept on looking for updates. Its saying its the latest.

That's because it is the latest... The iPhone 4 can not run iOS 8.
