iPhone 6 poor picture quality

I have an iPhone 6 (64gb AT&T) running iOS 8.02 and I'm experiencing poor image quality with photos taken with the camera. It looks they are artificially over sharpened and fairly pixelated when compared to photos taken with my iPhone 5. It's most noticeable when capturing skin tones in a lowish light setting. It almost looks like there has been a bad watercolor effect added to then photo. I'm attaching a few examples that have been cropped to show the problem spots. Anyone else having this issue?

Just got iPhone 6 a week ago as an upgrade to 4s. Discovered this issue yesterday when I uploaded the pics to my computer and saw them on big screen. This is by far the worst smartphone pictures that I have seen in the past 4 years or so. A major downgrade from the iPhone 4s that I had. I'm really disappointed that it's been a while since phone's release and Apple just ignores the issue. No fear though, I'm thinking about getting an android like Nexus, S5, or LG G3 that can take good pictures.

I went to Apple store yesterday and tried a bunch of iPhone 6 and 6 Plus and they all take bad pictures. I took a side by side picture with store's 5s and my 6 and you could clearly see the 5s takes pics that are far superior to 6. however when you ask store employees they act like zombies and just say iPhone 6 has a better camera. I was offered a camera replacement, but I see no point since all the iPhone 6 I have tried in the store experience that same problem. I guess we should all complain to Apple and maybe if there are enough of us, or if the story makes news somehow then Apple will correct the issue. Ouch...it's the exact same issue we all iPhone6 users are having. Someone at Apple's camera team got blind or what?

Unfortunately I really dount Apple would ever fix this as it's seen as a feature by them. Apple was very proud of the low noise in the iPhone6 camera when they released the phone.

I don't know what can we do about...but to me the iPhone camera now is useless.

That's great. I just hope is also fixed on iPhone 6. Can you post a picture with the new firmware?

On the other hand (and maybe I'm being a little pesimist) perhaps Apple turbes on by mistake the iPhone 6 noise reductino for iPhone 5 in the previous firmware and in the beta they only disable it fot iPhone 5. Don't we forget, this noise reduction algorithm is seen by Apple as an excmusica feature only avaible on iPhone 6. I really hope I'm wrong and it's fixed with the next iOS version.

Having horrible quality issues with pictures whether zoomed or not. Zooming definitely kills the quality. I've always had iPhones from Gen 1 but switched to an Android based phone when I was using Google Glass and now back to the iPhone - there was no comparison between the quality of that one and this phone. I don't remember pictures looking so poorly on any iPhone! Also not sure why my pictures are sideways and upside down when posting on here? Kind of funny though.

I am wondering if we will ever see a fix? These were taken with iOS 8.2
