iPhone 6 no service 8.0.2 Vodafone UK

Hi

My iPhone keeps going in to no service mode randomly, if I do a aeroplane mode on and off, it usually clears it but it is getting very frustrating

Do you think this is an issue which will be sorted with an update or do I have a faulty handset?

Thanks

Tom

Well this is interesting - I too have the no service issue 😟. I can't pinpoint when it started but I got the IPhone 6 around March and I have been having the problem since about May I think. However, it might have been there but I have not noticed.

Very annoying. At first I thought it was down to the fact I had it in my jeans pocket and somehow that was killing the signal. Have been on to Apple and reset the phone etc but did not cure it. They have offered to take the phone and check the hardware but I'm not convinced that is the issue. Having come across this thread with some on their third of fourth new phone then I'm guessing it is not the phone.

Normally I had to reboot to get the service back - I'm in Lancashire UK with Vodafone. However, tonight I got the no service again and thought I would wait and it did return after about 5 minutes.

I have just changed the LTE settings suggested by Big Al to see if this resolves the issue. Will report back.

I got my phone as part of an upgrade (wish I'd kept my iPhone 5) at the end of March 2015.

I live in South Hampshire UK.

Been having the random 'no service' since then and have got Vodafone UK to change my handset twice 😠

When it kept happening I then asked for, received and fitted a new SIM card.

I have also requested info from Vodafone 'Tech Support' (what a joke they are!) re the LTE settings and have received no info 😕

I have tried Big Al's settings and it is happening less frequently (used to be at least three times a day now it is only once or twice a day).

On numerous occasions that it has happened, i have compared my wife's IPhone 5 and it has a full 3G Signal.

I hope you have better luck that I have with this.

I am now considering asking for another new SIM card from Vodafone.

Maybe if everyone experiencing this issue asked Vodafone for a new SIM Card every month or so then soon they would have to realise that something is not configured properly with their network and perhaps they might eventually get round to doing something about it. 😮

If this is not resolved by the time my contract expires then I will most definitely be moving to another service provider.😟

A week has passed since I put in the LTE settings suggested by Big Al. Since then there has been no problem with the No Service issue. I don't want to say yet that the problem has been resolved - I'd like to go a full month without seeing the problem before I would say it is fixed.

However, it certainly seems to have improved the situation considerably and I'm hopeful at this stage that the problem indeed has been resolved.

you would have thought with all of these posts that someone in Apple and Vodafone would do something about it.

I am now on my second iphone 6 and my second Vodafone SIM!

rebooting my phone, toggling aeroplane mode, taking the sim out etc! None of these work for more than 10 seconds and the minute I go to make a call or answer one, it goes no service again!!

If I didn't have wifi at work and home, I am uncontactable! And for people that don't have an iPhone!! I am uncontactable! For something that costs so much money, it's a complete shambles!

IVe also reset my phone from new and not a backup, so it's not a software issue either!
