iPhone 6 vibrate intensity is very very weak compared to previous generation iPhones.

Got iPhone 6 on 9/19. Found out that Vibrate intensity is very very weak on iPhone 6 compared to previous generation iPhones. I keep missing calls and alerts when on vibrate mode. Is there any solution to this ?

iPhone 6, iOS 8

Actually, that's what "silent" mode is for. The vibration is so week, It's barely notifying at all, I've missed calls when it's sitting in my lap. Forget about if it's in a pocket, or even sitting on my desk next to me. Vibration mode should still be strong enough to alert you a call or text is coming through. It's basically glorified silent mode now.

Then turn the volume down very low so you can hear it. The point of vibration mode is to not cause an audible alert, but a tactile one.

If you're holding the phone in your hand, can you feel the vibration? If so, then it's strong enough.

Or use LED alerts for a visual notification.

Would you please stop wasting our time with your totally useless suggestions. If you would look at the entirety of the discussion, it's obvious that the iPhone 6 vibration mechanism is sub-par compared to other iPhones - it really is that simple. And, I think we're looking for some real support from Apple to admit this and do something about it.

Agreed there's a big problem here! I've always used the vibrate feature on past iPhones so I can keep the phone in my pocket so I don't bug other people with a ring as I'm sure many people do. And the others are right in saying I don't even notice it if it's sitting on my ipad cover on a table next to me. All other iPhones including the 6+ can be felt fine! Could a software update help (even at the expense of reduced battery life) or is this only a hardware issue? I would love to do something about it because I like the phone but may have to get rid of it because I keep missing important calls!

Can't agreed more with this. My previous iPhone 5 has much stronger vibration, and I can easily recognise even a short vibration while it's on my desk.

The problem seems to be that iPhone 6 vibration, while vibrates pretty strong when you hold it, is very silent when it's put on a desk. It might have something to do with the vibration direction. I think the vibration in iPhone 6 is moving horizontally instead of vertically when laid down, so it doesn't bounce the phone up and down, hence very silent vibration.

What we could expect right now is probably a 3rd party vibration motor with stronger vibration intensity, or a different orientation of vibration.

There are lots of vibration motor part for iPhone 6 on ebay. Some of them have completely different looks compared to the original ones, not really sure to try replacing with them except they advertised with stronger vibration though!

So I have been using my 6s for the first time at work, where I have always had my phone on vibrate (iphone 4s) and now I miss texts and calls just like the other posters are saying. Vibrate is about not making ringtone sound...it should still alert the owner of a message or call. This is something that should have been addressed in the 6s based on the amount of posting I have seen on the 6.
