Since update IOS 8, phone won't ring, no missed call and then I see voicemail notification

I found the problem for mine, after the update and following upgrades of App's, it was the Tu GO App from O2 that was causing the problems as it had been set to accept incomming calls as default. If you have this, or any other mobile over wifi app, look at the settings.

Just discovered…. If I turned on vibrate on ring > turn off vibrate on silent …. my phone rang & vibrated

No. I'm having the same issue. once I plugged it in it would ring again and then I did the 8.1 update and that doesn't work. It is so annoying!

My phone was not ringing when the screen was locked, but working fine when it was unlocked. I tried all the obvious fixes, but none worked. I had also noticed a little phone symbol with little dots under it, next to my battery charge symbol, on the upper right of my iPhone 5 screen. This apparently meant that some teletype setting was on. Under settings, I went to phone, and turned off TTY. The symbol disappeared and my phone now rings when the screen is locked. Hope this helps someone.

I've had the same issue. I noticed that in the DND section under SILENCE, I have a check mark on "ONLY WHILE IPHONE IS LOCKED". I cannot change
it. I believe that is my problem. Any suggestions ?

I had this same problem. On the Iphone6 Plus, on the left hand side, above the volume buttons, is a small toggle switch. This switch toggles between Mute and ring. Just toggle to un mute and your problem will be solved

I had the same problem! but i have had just figured it out. check the small button on ringing buttons switch i think i had it switch down...i switch it up and tried to call my phone and it works!

This is not a sound issue. It is either a software issue or a carrier issue. Try reseting network settings. Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. If this doesn't work the way to figure out if it is software or not is a restore. Backup your phone to iTunes or iCloud then restore using iTunes. If after the restore it still isn't working contact your carrier.

I was just having the problem just five minutes ago. my sister texted me saying "Why are you ignoring my calls? "I didn't have any missed calls. We both have iPhones. I called her on her phone and she answered. She try calling me back but my phone didn't ring. She then tried to call me from her house phone and my iPhone did ring. This has happened before.The weather here is lousy right now maybe that's it? I don't recall what the weather was like when this happened before. I'm glad I found this thread at least I know I'm alone.

Try resetting network settings.

Settings>General>Reset (at bottom if list) > Reset network Settings

In my office we have a 'mobile over wifi' Boostbox that's supposed to counter the problem of weak signal. In fact it's been mishandling the calls since iOS 8.2. I've switched it off, and gone back to weak signal, but at least I get calls occasionally....
