Before you tell me to do some "fix"....

YES I am connected to WiFi

YES my internet works perfectly on every other device in my house

YES I have rebooted my router

YES I have tried closing every single app

YES I have rebooted my iPad 2

YES I have turned off my iPad 2 and turned it back on a day later

YES I have upgraded to iOS 8.0.2

YES I have tried a factory restore

YES the problem started immediately after iOS 8 upgrade

*** is wrong with letting me downgrade to 7.1.2. Seriously. iOS 8 is a steaming pile of crap for iPad 2 users. And Apple support blames it on hardware issues of course. So, did thousands of iPad 2 users all just had the same hardware failure at the same time? Just look at the forums and see how many are having the same exact problem. And, if it is just a "select few", then why did all of these posts start AFTER iOS 8?

Even if you try to blame it on hardware, that still has nothing to do with going back to iOS 7.1.2. Every problem started with iOS 8. I had zero problems before iOS 8.

Bottom-line....LET ME GO BACK TO 7.1.2!

I Have the same exact problem. My iPad 2 was working perfectly until iOS 8. Now everything runs slow, it hangs up and freezes. Never did that before. I wish I had not upgraded but now it seems I'm stuck. iOS 8.02 is no better. So frustrated!

I Totally agree with you. Virus is a great way to describe ios 8. The list of bugs and undesirable features is endless.. I don't get push mail, notifications, or even texts anymore. I don't get phone calls, I can't answer calls because the screen is frozen, I get screen glitches, random graphical errors, missing wallpapers, unresponsive touchscreen, auto brightness does not work and when it tries it's very abrupt and noticeable, system sounds work sporadically, screen rotates on its own, screen rotation gets stuck, multitouch gestures fail constantly, Notification Center opens randomly, wifi disconnects frequently, keyboard disappears, Safari crashes, can't close last one tab anymore without more gestures, can't scroll to top anymore without added gesture, don't like disappearing menu bar, Safari can't connect to many secure sites anymore where chrome can just fine, auto fill is failing, ......enough is enough, this is crap. I want ios 6 back.

Apple has completely copied android creating a buggy, laggy, unreliable pile of crap. Might as well buy an android, they're cheaper and open source.

Pete

the reason why people are venting their spleen on forums like this is that they HAVE fed back to apple either through a store or the feedback option with little or no support from either

users like myself who have spent a lot of our hard earned $ or £'s or what ever currency it is have a right to be treated properly and unfortunately apple have failed big style over iOS 8.

We don't have any other means to make our feelings felt other than forums such as this which may or may not be the right place

I think as a moderator you are going to have to get used to it till Apple change their stance

I face the same - tried to solve it with Apple support - hopeless!!! After latest iOS upgrade the callendar unable to go to 2015 without freezing, etc. etc. Now working with iPad2 is always test of patience and I am fed-up. I hate this "push" to buy new products ... I was so happy with iPad at the begining and I see this ignorance to "old users" as a big strategic mistake.
