Apple Event: May 7th at 7 am PT
Tried updating some apps recently but have not been able to. When I tap the update button, it opens the app itself. In the case the app prompts me to update via a pop-up message, nothing happens after I tap update on the pop-up.
I Have an ipad 2 and I'm running iOS 7.0.4. thing to note, I did have restrictions enabled an had to enable them but still no luck.
ANy any help would be appreciated.

I was experiencing the same problem. I went to the "Purchased" section of the appstore and long-pressed the app icons of the apps I wanted to updated. The apps' descriptions opened and displayed an "Update" button. Selecting that updated the apps without a problem. Bit of pain, but a viable workaround.
To all users who try to update apps and it directly open up the apps is because the update of the particular app is of latest IOS, please try update the ios and then update the apps.
Hope your issues will be solved.
What you need to do is instead of click "update" - you need to tap on the app description, when it unfolds now click update. Good to go !
