Turn off audio descriptions for Netflix on Apple TV

When I began the new season of a show I was watching on Netflix, an audio description of the show suddenly started playing. I have searched high and low trying to figure out if it was AppleTV, Netflix, my remote (Harmony), or my TV (a Sharp Aquos) that suddenly decided I needed that feature. So far, no luck. Does anyone have a solution?

"Push the up arrow when the show is playing then hit select. It will be on subtitle. Push the Up arrow and then arrow over to the right to audio. arrow to the bottom English selection. Hit enter and the audio narration will turn off."
Yes! Pushing the up arrow on the Apple TV remote works!

OK i figured it out. If you are watching Netflix on your Apple TV, during the episode or whatever you're watching...press the ENTER key once to pause the tv. The Circle in between up, down, left, right. Then HOLD DOWN the center button for one second and a subtitles box will appear. You'll see Subtitles, Audio, Speakers. Select by pressing UP and RIGHT to the AUDIO section. There, it should say English and English - Audio Description. If Audio Description is selected, simply toggle to Audio>English...Press Enter. Problem is solved. No idea why this started happening all of a sudden but this will correct it.

Select show>Pause show with circle/enter/pause/select button> Hold down the same button for One second while show is paused>New Window appears>Toggle to Audio>Select English (it will be set to English Audio Description) if you're having this issue>Press enter button again on English (no audio description) and you'll be set.

On your Mac, simply select the boxes in the bottom right of your playing episode. it will look like the CC box you'd normally see. Turn it to English. Not English audio description.

hope this helps! it worked for me right away.

So, while you are correct, I was trying to figure out why some shows had this issue and others didn't. What started thus search for me was "River". But the show before that wasn't an issue. First episode of River and I'm getting a detailed description of the Netflix logo... Then I went to Luke Cage where it was NOT a problem. I hadn't yet changed any setting or options. But what I noticed was that on River, the first audio track available was the descriptive track. On Luke Cage the first was regular audio. Second track was descriptive audio. It seems that however Netflix or whomever programs the audio, if the first is descriptive you'll have to change to the regular track. If however, the first track is the regular audio, you should be fine. Hope this helps!

I had the same thing just start happening while watching Jessica jones. The only way to stop it is to go to the audio drop down menu. On older Apple TV press up arrow then choose audio and select English for some reason it defaults to English-audio description ad. On newer Apple TV put your finger on touch pad and wait until it says swipe down for info on top of screen swipe down then choose audio and change to English. Must've been an update to the app recently because this is the first day I've seen this.
