I Unlocked my iPhone using AT&T's instructions using iTunes. The Phone now just say's Hello. Does that mean all my Data has been erased? Do I have to unregister my Phone with Apple?

If the phone is locked (via Find My iPhone) the person you sell it to will not be able to use it, now that you know that you will be cheating them if you do.
So check before you sell.
Why would it be useless? Life is hard enough these days, I'm getting the feeling you are making it harder and without any real answers!!!!

I'm sorry I missed it. My husband just died and I have had a lot of paper work and stress yada yada..... I did go to the place you mentioned and keyed in his IMEI number. It said "this device will not require a password to be erased or reactivated. ready to set up and use"
Does this mean it's ok to sell?
I hope you never find yourself in my situation.... I'm just looking for some friendly advise to help me move on with my life.

Settings>iCloud>Find My iPhone.
