iOS 8 Fake FaceTime Audio missed call appearing on the lock screen

Hi all,

FaceTime is getting me crazy.. almost everyday I get fake missed FaceTime calls from a friend of mine on the look screen.

He did not call me but I get his missed call.

Everything started since I update my iPhone to iOS 8.

My friend iPhone was on iOS 7.1.2, so the only change was on my device.

Anybody has any suggestion?

Thanks in adv

I doubt it is a fake call, but rather perhaps an old call that isn't clearing due to the update. I wonder if you go to Settings>FaceTime and turn it off and back on ...also take a look and make certain that only your phone number and email are checked as to where you can be reached on FaceTime.

I'm having the same issue... I'm trying the "fix" above (turn off facetime, restart, turn on facetime), but I'm afraid that until Apple issues a bug fix, the problem will eventually arise again--the conditions that triggered the bug it in the first place will eventually be met. And this is a bug, there's no mistake. I get missed facetime call logs. The actual call never comes through because there's no actual call.

Glad I found this thread. I am also seeing the "2 missed FaceTime" audio recents that keep reappearing after deletion.

Strange thing is, the issue only happens on my iPhone, not the same Apple ID iPad and MacBook.

I suspect the bug is somehow connected to the sim phone number used by FaceTime independently of the Apple ID (so that FaceTime "just works" between 2 iPhones). Also notice that the deleted 2 missed recents tend to reappear after iPhone switches to a different wi-fi network or cell tower.

Tried the turn off FaceTime, restart, turn on suggestion, but this did not solve the issue.

I'm having the same issue and have been for a few months. I "receive" two facetime audio calls from the same friend throughout the day, often when I receive another call. Today I have so far received ten FT audio calls from this friend (five sets of two).

I switched from an 5s to 6 a couple of months ago and for a while the problem stopped. But now it's back with a vengeance. I have deleted this person's contact info from my contacts, I have blocked the caller, etc. But I still receive them.

I'll try the temp fix noted above but I think this is an Apple bug (since it started again with me even after switching to a new iphone).

It would be great if those who used the temp fix could comment again to say whether the problem was permanently fixed.

Not sure if this is the same issue. If I FaceTime my mum, it calls a random number that is not stored anywhere in my contacts. So to the random number she gets a call from my number as "phantom" but can't answer it. The random number was nice enough to call me to let me know about what was happening. It also happened about 6 months ago, different phone not sure what version of iOS, but I am usually up to date.

Since I have been in contact with the random person and can text her although the name on my phone comes up as Mum! However if I cell call my Mum then my mum gets my call. My only fix was to ask the random number to block me from her end as deleting my Mums details didn't fix the problem because of the bloody cloud. I then deleted my Mum from the cloud contacts and my phone. If only I could remember Mum's number...
