Same thing happened to my phone within 4 days of having it. From all of these posts, it doesn't appear there is a real long-term solution which is extremely disappointing. Switched from a Samsung Galaxy 5 and tried the iphone for the first time. After reading this chain of posts of people having the same unexplained issue is pathetic.

Dont be disheartened . I had the same problem and then discovered that it was a feature ( if same thing happens where seemingly died )when in fact had gone into a battery saving deep sleep mode. Thats the good news, read above for a possible solution. . Let me assure you anybody who has decided to leave samsung :android behind is a wise person . I've been using apple product since 1988 and i remain a fan.

hello . I have the same problem . Today am just woke up and I was looking on my iPhone 6s Plus . It was completely die ... I tried to switch on ... And nothing . But the most strange think it was that button in the middle . IT WAS SUPER WARMING . But I didn't used them , I live alone , it was out of charging and still on the dry and safe place ... So ...?

15 min I tried still to "waking it up" and stil was totally KO with super warming button in the middle .

After 15 min i saw the reaction and it started to function ...

so where is the problem ? I bought it in the dicember and already I have this problems ?

if I tell you right now I am extremely upset it is because I am I have not had this new iphone 6 s plus for 3 days all the sudden the phone started restarting for no reason then it shuts completely off. I had my old iphone 4 for over 5 years and it never gave me any kind of issue like this. I tried all the little tricks online and nothing will work. I'm hating right now that I even upgraded.,... does anyone have any more suggestions or have I already done them all? I really don't want to have to get up and go to the apple store on my off day

I always wait weeks before accepting the updates but I finally updated 2 days ago. And today my phone just went black and wouldn't come on. It wouldn't charge or show any sign of life. I pressed buttons and was about to run off to the phone store. Luckily, I checked Apple discussions and found your suggestion. I could hardly believe my eyes when I saw the Apple logo after holding down the wake and home buttons for 15 seconds! Apparently I had not been holding them down long enough. Thanks CoffeeFan2 for your time saving tip! I did NOT want to go the the phone store nor the Genius Bar! 🙂

My Iphone 6 died as well. It started with a batter issue where it would die at 50% charge. That got worse over about 6 months. I tried to do the latest ios update 2 weeks ago and my phone stopped working and froze on a white screen. I spent an hour at the Apple store, and they were very sorry that my phone had internal damage that could not be fixed. They only offered to sell me another phone. I am very angry at their lack of support for the expensive products that they sell. Kim

When you charge your iPhone and don't even get an apple logo. When you have tried to hold on to home and power for ten seconds and nothing works? Then it's your logic board and if you are within the year apple will replace your phone for free. For some reason a lot of the iPhones 6-6s have been having a failure on the logic board. DONT OPEN THE IPHONE! YOU VOID THE WARRANTY

My brand new phone 6 has gone completely black and unresponsive. Could failure of the logic board be the issue? Im worried that for some reason it could be water damage even though I have not dropped the phone in water or have gotten it wet. I checked the LCI in the sim card slot and it is white, not red.

Take it into an Apple Store.

Same no power problem with iPhone 6 plus 128GB after 18 months with no water and no physical damages. Take to apple "genius?" bar and the answer was to purchase the after warranty phone. Almost one thousand dollar phone built to last less than two years and it seems my problem is not unique. Some responds from Apple would be nice. Disappointed!!!
