😉I don't have an answer but from what others have posted about Yosemite there is plenty of server traffic that's causing delays. I would quit the download and wait for an hour or two and try again, Thats only my opinion if it happened to me😉

Was having this issue where I got a download error at around 870 meg. Issue was with my work ISP but solved it using the following steps.

Disconnect from work network (I just took the cable out the back).

Set up a mobile hotspot on my phone.

Connected to mobile internet connection, went to purchases and clicked download button again (time jumped to 17 hours or something crazy, but started downloading again).

Waited until reached 900 meg

Reconnected work network and now downloaded no problem (time also went back to 25 mins).

Hope that helps

I have tried to download OSX Yosemite to download it countless times. I have Comcast internet, a MacBook Pro (Mid- 2012), and have changed the DNS if anyone was wondering. My download goes to like 871mb then stops. The error message says something along the lines of "OSX Yosemite failed to download. You can try again in the Purchases folder". Can anyone please help? Its funny that one of OSX Mavericks's bugs was that it cant be updated to Yosemite. "But you can fix that bug in the Yosemite update," they say. What?

ATTENTION EVERYONE! I HAVE FOUND OUT HOW TO FIX IT! I was on the phone with Apple for literally 45 mins. But it will take 5 Mins to do. Boot your Mac into safe mode then download it from there. You don't have to change your DNS or ISP. JUST DOWNLOAD THE UPDATE FROM SAFE MODE! Here is how to boot your Mac into safe mode. You're welcome!

Start up in Safe Mode (Only essential OS X items are started; some features and apps might not work correctly.) Immediately after you hear the startup tone, hold down the Shift key. Release the Shift key when you see the progress indicator (looks like a spinning gear).

After months of trying to download Yosemite (Shame on Apple). I had tried all suggestions with not success, I finally tried the "Get Cloaked" suggestion and it worked!! Thank you. I had resisted the suggestion because I did not want any problems from downloading other software.

Thanks abelq for the good intel.

i got message "OS X Yosemite failed to download" "Use the Purchases page to try again."
