Let's start with the simple factual inaccuracies:

It would seem in the dash to bring out Yosemite, Apple did not make it compatible with iPhotos and as a result iPhotos is greyed out and unusable.

No, it would seem that you failed to keep iPhoto updated as it does work with Yosemite. If you have an up-to-date version - and that was released before Yosemite, you have no problem.

Instead Apple have codged together a much lesser facility called 'Photos', it is nowhere near as good as iPhotos was and lacks the proper editing facilities

No, Apple have released a whole new application that is far more powerful than iPhoto in many areas - specifically in editing. You really ought to look more closely. It also has that whole iCloud Library feature, which allows one to shoot on one devices and then edit it on any other. Both of those are massive improvements on iPhoto. It does not have all of the features of iPhoto, true, but then it's a new app. But to say it lacks proper editing is incorrect, or that it has a lesser facility than iPhoto is also incorrect.

Just a year or two back Apple also removed the ability to play and record disks as an integral part of their computers.

Again, untrue. You can still play and/or record to optical media if you have a drive. That can be built-in or external. But it's still possible.

Both Mavericks and Yosemite are pretty flaky and at times seem to be less stable.

That may be your experience but it's certainly not mine.

Remember that Apple aren't here, so this is not the place to send them messages. But if you are going to do that, you need to make sure you know what you are talking about.
