can’t make phone call on my mac from yosemite from contacts

Anyone else not able to make a call from contacts on a mac pro running Yosemite. My iPhone 6 and Yosemite are both setup to make cellular calls and on the same wifi network and both signed in, basically everything that is on apples support site but all calls fail. It tried but fails every time and I’m not sure what else to do. There is no more info on how to make calls and everything tried just fails. I haven’t tried to call from safari or any other source.

This is also an issue that I am having. Haven't had time to spend on the phone with apple, however I will update when I do. So far, I can make calls using my mac from safari or from the FaceTime app in audio from iPhone. I can not make the calls from spotlight contacts search or from the contacts app open. This is an isolated issue with just the contacts app given that you have all the required hardware and upgrades to make this work.

here is what fixed my prob...

1. signout 4m facetime on mac and then sign in again with one icloud id

2. signout 4m facetime on iphone and sign back in

3. turn on 'iphone cellular calls' in facetime menu on iphone

4. if required, restart iphone

5. then go to contacts on mac, type a name you want to call and then you will see blue call icon just like this the snapshot i have attached below. so just click it.User uploaded file

I can't set my mac to call or forward texts either. Handoff with keeping my iPhone and macbook work. But whenI try to go into settings>messages>get fowarding my mac shows up, I tick the option, iMessage opens on my mac but no verification code comes up.

I go into settings>facetime> tick iPhone cellular calls & I keep getting the message cannot turn on iPhone cellular calls; FaceTime & iCloud must be signed in to the same apple ID to use iPhone Cellular Calls.

I have tried restarting my mac & iPhone 6. I have tried logging out & logging back into iCloud on my phone & mac. I do have a different account for my app store so made that the same as the iCloud & FaceTime, iMessage in the settings & it still does not work.

I have my iMessage on my mac, iPhone 6 set to my cellular number for phone calls, FaceTime calls, & iMessage only, I even tried to turn on one of my emails & still it does not work.

This may help some users unable to initiate calls from your Mac but can receive calls. In System Preferences/Security Privacy/Firewall/Options, one must select Automatically Allow Signed Software to Receive Incoming Connections..If you have Block All Incoming Connections except those..... Selected, your Mac will not be able to "receive" a return signal from your iPhone. Curious I know because you can "receive" incoming calls... This solved my issue..
