When I choose "View Options", nothing seems to occur. The menu selection is not greyed out, it just doesn't seem to have any functionality when you select it.
Occasionally when I click elsewhere, I'll see a brief flash, as if something had popped up, but only significantly delayed and not long enough to figure out what happened.

Yeah it would be nice if the View Options capability was restored.
When I open the list of songs on my iPhone from within iTunes, I really don't want to see a list of every darn song. I just want to see a list of the ALBUMS, ideally as either album art, or as just titles of albums.
But without the View Options capability restored, we can no longer do that.
(No the workaround of creating playlists is not workable.)
THANKS! When I started with Mac they payed people to make the UX magic. Now they pay them to mess everything up for the **** of it. (Note: One can't leave a sad face on this thread. What does THAT say?)
playlist sorting on mobile devices is patented. iTunes will never support this. the only reason it worked in the past is because they didn't disable it properly.
Thanks. That solved the problem. How non-intuitive can you get, though? Why not just make "view options" actually do what it is supposed to do?
