Screen unresponsive when tapping.

I have been having an issue with my iPad Air ever since installing ios8. When Searching Google or any other search engine on Safari, the search results return, but tapping on them does nothing. I have to refresh the page and tap again. Also, sometimes the search comes back as a white screen until I touch it, which then makes the search results appear. I have similar screen response issues with YouTube. Trying to scrub through video is next to impossible. It takes about ten tries to grab the play head. I have done all the usual restarts and the network has been confirmed good by provider. Any thoughts?

Hey, for anyone still having all these issues, like me, I have Apple Care and needed a receipt to show that I have it because I'm moving and my original is already packed so I went to PC Richards, on Long Island where I bought it and the woman who worked there and helped me said that she went to the Apple Store and her IPad was restored to IOS 7!!!!I'm heading there now.I feel like I bought a brand new iPad Air for $599. that doesn't function at all anymore. I never had one issue with it-until this "upgrade" and have been kicking myself in the butt since I downloaded it!Nothing works and I really feel I should be refunded because they ruined my product without a second thought of how all their previous products would function at all so long as the iPhone 6 worked and got out Fi r the Christmas season and people could stand in line for it like before! Not true this time me thinks!! Anyone waiting on a line for THIS-is a fool or has money to burn and doesn't care about losing it.

Steinfeather, I am having literally the same problems exactly how you described them. I literally found this thread via google search, and only after all page results populated and 15-20 seconds of tapping the link with no response it finally woke up and started to load. The same is true for typing in my experience. I use my iPad Air for work more often than I should admit, so normally I fly through sentences, paragraphs, emails, copy&paste, text selection, etc. However, since The iOS 8 debacle I have trained my hands to move in slow motion to give this thing time to register and not lock up or lag. Copy and paste including selecting text is all buggy and inaccurate. Honestly, it makes this device a test of patience and endurance....long gone are the pleasures of the iPad Air. Things I tried: (i.) home+reset holding reboot until Apple logo appears (maybe 20+ times per day), deleted tons of apps and freed 70% of memory space, closed all apps, alternating DNS servers (router and device settings) and several router configs, no luck. As you may see this is my first post ever on Apple's thread messaging despite recent software fumblings which have us conditioned to expect unpolished fuctionality, not me. I am done....Samsung Tab with Saturday delivery tomorrow! Seems no one can fix this.

OMG!! I thought I was the only person having this issue!! It's driving me crazy and I'm so ****** at times I actually feel like my index finger is going to go right through the screen,! I am so,so,so ****** off at myself AND APPLE that I downloaded this IOS 8 I can't even tell you! What a piece of crap update!

MY batterry life is awful. all of those " suggestions" that immediately "pop up" when you Google anything screws up typing anything, half my apps don't work right any more. Slow response on everything.

If someone messages you, while your in an app--and you type a response-and they message you back before you've " sent" yours-you lose everything you typed!! Then they text you back-because they are awaiting your response but now your taking too long because you had to retype everything- it happens YET AGAIN! I have extended Apple-care coverage and if they don't fix mine-I want a NEW ONE with IOS7! I hate this 8 crap. They ruined everything probably because they wanted it out for the Christmas/holiday season for maximum profit. They're going to lose a ton of money with this version- I'm sure! No one is going to buy it if they don't fix this real FAST!!

8.2 is a disaster, it worse than 8.1! Starting to get ****** now. Huge lag when trying to get to a new page, taking ages before I can type into a search field. Gesture bug still not working now and then, can't grab to home screen! although changing orientation still fixes it, but come on! Def holding off getting ipad Air 2 till they can prove they are on top of things.

*** is going on Apple?

obviouly tried rebooting etc, just annoyed now.

Uing sing iPad Air btw. This site is glitchy especially when trying to edit posts, but have no idea whose a fault there.

I'm one of the lucky ones that installed iOS 8, encountered the lagging/scrubbing problem in Safari and youtube, and reflashed iOS 7 to my iPad 3 just in time.

To the one who said they want a new iPad, I'm sure that's Apple's goal, too. For instance, I now have an iPad 3 w/32 gb and a gold iPad Air 2 with 64 gb. This is not planned obsolescence; it's forced obsolescence for those unable to rollback to 7. And of course, 7 doesn't work with iCloud and iWork so yet again, forced to upgrade your device to get new features.

On the other hand, this Air 2 is way faster, lighter and smaller than the 3. Touch ID is awesome. I don't use iWork anyway since our office uses Windows. We pay for a terabyte on Dropbox and OneDrive so I don't need iCloud. And finally, I could upgrade the 3 to iOS 8 and just live with the scrubbing problem since I don't really watch videos either.

I think I just made a decision! Thanks.

I Have an iPhone 6 plus and have the latest ios and I am having big issues with safari and Unresponsive tapping.

HMuss this been fixed. I only updated because I was having horrible issues with decor rotation locking up. Not I can barely use safari because tapping does not work. I can sometimes hold on the link and use open from the menu if it pops up. Also many pages load blank and only show after scrolling.

Update:

Apple support sent me to get a new phone because there is no way that iOS could have such a problem. Big surprise the new phone has the same issue. Bigger surprise I confirmed the same problem with 4 other iPhone6/6+ users who did no know about the problem. They were shocked to find that tapping the screen did not work properly. Apple continues to deny any problem with the software.
