iCloud Drive stuck Setting up...

I have upgraded my new iMac to OS X Yosemite. When asked by the setup whether I wanted to upgrade to iCloud drive, my power went out! When it came back up, the Mac's iCloud setup shows "iCloud Drive Setting up..." perpetually, with the progress wheel spinning. I've tried rebooting and clearing the ubiquitous file and still stuck. Any ideas?

Relaunch the Finder.

Hold the option key on keyboard first and then right-click on Finder Icon in the dock and click 'Relaunch'. After relaunch, it'll work!

Signing out of iCloud and signing back in worked for me. Yes, you will get a warning that your Contacts, Calendar, etc. data will be removed from the Mac, but it will be repopulated when signing back in. (That was my experience anyway.) A "setting up iCloud Drive" spinning wheel that had been stuck overnight completed setup in about 1-2 minutes after signing out and back in.

This worked for me:

  1. Finder > Go > (hold down option key) > Library;
  2. Right-click on Mobile Documents > choose Compress "Mobile Documents";
  3. Move "Mobile Documents.zip" to my Desktop (now I have a backup of my iCloud docs);
  4. System Preferences > iCloud;
  5. Sign Out and accept alerts;
  6. Restart the Mac;
  7. System Preferences > iCloud;
  8. Sign back into iCloud;
  9. One-by-one, from the bottom up, enable each iCloud feature and wait for it to complete (if you're enabling Keychain you'll be prompted for additional security);
  10. Finally, enable iCloud Drive (mine took about two minutes);
  11. If any docs are missing (some 3rd-party docs were missing for me), you can get them from the backup in step 3.

Hope this helps.
