Where is option to have side bar in iTunes 12 ?

Since, 11 iTunes has been disabling my option of having the sidebar... which is annoying... but now I cant find the option to have it again... since I found this better and easier to use than that ribbon of silly icons... It is a pain in the neck dragging a song to my iPod, in its specific playlist(still don't know how to do it properly in this new version) ... This is why I had the side bar, it was constant to the GUI design of Finder...

Please enable the option to have iTunes sidebar again... the flat GUI is irritating as it is, but getting rid of the option to have the sidebar just made me crazy, mad and insane.

OMG! So glad I had that off.

Decided to finally up to Mavericks. After migration, lots of things that were off were on, and visa versa. Such a pain. And the App Store is constantly reminding me; finally had to just turn that off while figuring out all the tweaking.

Geez. When I upgraded to Snow Leopard when it came out, it worked right out the gate. It was so nice....

I had the same problem as everyone else. I used iTunes 12 yesterday and it took me a bit to figure it out, like where my devices are. Then this morning I went to use iTunes and I didn't see my devices. We have multiple devices. None were listed. I came on here to see what was going on and didn't find the answer. I closed and reopened iTunes and nothing happened. Then I finally just restarted my MacMini and then iTunes and my devices were back. In order to see your devices in the classic mode then you have to click on Playlists and then they everything is pretty much as it was. When you close iTunes it will save your view and the next time that shows back up.

iTunes still does' work like it should because it doesn't automatically sync our devices when opened. Sometimes it doesn't find the devices. I have an iPhone 6 and I have to connect it with a cable to iTunes. Sometimes change isn't always better and they keep trying to change the layout, like they did with the cameral roll. People like the camera roll. So they returned it in iOS 8.1

I found the download the last iTunes at: iTunes 11.4 for OS X 10.6 --- I think there are alternate sites, but probably Apple's web site is best.

Why is it for OS 10.6, and not later OSs ?

I think that part does not matter. It would probably work for Snow Leopard ––> Mavericks. Would probably not work for Yosemite as it comes with ver 12 already? I think Apple just labeled it that way, because when ver 11.4 came out it would work with SL+ but not backwards to Leopard, etc. That's what I think.

Yep... iTunes 12 is an epic fail... apparently, I know of someone who's entire iTunes library has been trashed by iTunes 12 together with the Yosemite upgrade... Only less than half of the albums are showing , half of the albums that have not disappeared from the library , have lost their album art. The chap asked me to role back their entire mac to a point on their Time Machine... so I asked him if he backed up his data, he said yes, and then rebooted machine, held down the alt key... and the restore drive icon feature is missing ... but when clicking on his "about this mac" and system report... according to the data, the Recovery HD is still there... but inaccessible. So Yosemite totally screwed up his mac, after he had the screen replaced which changed his serial number and not recognised by Apple... Obviously Yosemite flushed a lot of data identifying his mac to probably be recognised by the recovery feature to access the time machine.

Thanks for the link. I absolutely hate not having the sidebar, and am switching back to version 11.

While I'll stay on version 11 on my Mac, I can't seem to find the link to download 11 for Windows. It keeps pushing me to download version 12.

Anybody know of a link to download version 11 for Windows?

You could try ––> http://filehippo.com/download_itunes_32/history

I haven't used Windows in years, but I used to get apps from filehippo - it should be okay. But, as always, make sure you backup, check version numbers, have virus software, and do it all at your own risk. This is with any download, update, software, etc.

Hope it works for you.

I was having the same issue with my 64 based system. Couldn't find a link anywhere on itunes.com to download version 11 as any support article just brought me back to a v12 download page. I searched everywhere through my download history and found one. I've uploaded it to my hosting if you want it, you're welcome. http://mikecl.com/itunes/iTunes64Setup.exe I downloaded this on 9/13 so I think it's the latest before the release of v12. Hope this helps you out.

Just updated to I-Tunes 12, what a terrible mistake. 11 had this simple little mini window you could click, expand, and see everything in the sidebar. Took me an hour to find my radio stations. Where do they get these programmers from? Some Apple manager trying to make his name at Apple by changing something, anything? Have been on Apple since 1989.... its always been a love/hate relationship. (Teeth grinding, stomach churning, ears smoking....)

Roger, iTunes 12 still has this simple little mini-window you can click, expand and see everything in the sidebar (if you activate it) and in the white top bar right above it....If something changes please make an effort to explore first before you start to rant. Of course it's easy to do that, because you have enough supporters on this thread. But I disagree with these guys. The new way has benefits if you make use of playlists a lot, while you still have all functions at hand.

Just make an effort to get used to the new ways and you'll see for yourself it makes sense.
