Where is option to have side bar in iTunes 12 ?

Since, 11 iTunes has been disabling my option of having the sidebar... which is annoying... but now I cant find the option to have it again... since I found this better and easier to use than that ribbon of silly icons... It is a pain in the neck dragging a song to my iPod, in its specific playlist(still don't know how to do it properly in this new version) ... This is why I had the side bar, it was constant to the GUI design of Finder...

Please enable the option to have iTunes sidebar again... the flat GUI is irritating as it is, but getting rid of the option to have the sidebar just made me crazy, mad and insane.

iTunes is the only game in town, if there were competition the numbers might tell a different story. If you want to use Apple you've got to use iTunes. Growth doesn't mean the program is getting better, it means more people are buying iPhones. McDonalds may sell billions of Quarter Pounders but that doesn't mean they make the best burger.

Actually, iTunes is not the only game in town. Since I last voiced my concern over this issue, I switched to good old Windows Media Player. To my (pleasant) surprise, I found it easy to use, intuitive, FREE, and, most importantly, it still has a fully functional sidebar! It also plays all iTunes files (mp4, etc.) without any hiccups. So, I am happy. Now, I am also a PC user, so I don't know if there is a Windows Media Player for Mac, but if you're still disenchanted with iTunes, you might want to check it out. I'm seriously satisfied with switching.

I need iTunes to manage my iPhone, iPad and iPods, I don't think Media Player will do that, or will it? Plus I get all the updates automatically.

I'm sure I'll (have to) stay with iTunes whether they fix things or not. I was curious if anyone else was annoyed with the new version. Twenty five pages of comments later, I'd say there was.

Thanks. That works on my iMac although, with Apple updates it seems that extra clicking is always involved. For anyone that missed Noelred's post above it is referring to how to get to the answer which is on page 1 of this topic. Whether this applies to other Apple hardware other than computers I don't know. Click on :

True but then a lot of the 24 pages thus far are extolling dissatisfaction with iTunes being mucked up. Obviously there are lots of people who may be gloriously happy with it but there are times when I feel that Apple are trying too hard to do things. If one is new user etc., then it is what it is but if you have been in the camp for a while some of the changes may not suit which is fair enough but, no matter how many people do give apple feedback on the official sites there is no way of knowing whether they are bothered or not as a lot of bugs appear rarely to get fixed. To me it feels at times like someone designing a bicycle lane in the middle of the road when most people would feel more comfortable with it on each side of the road. 🙂

MY bottom line on this is this: if you have a piece of software you use pretty much everyday, you've got it figured out and it works great for you. Then, you wake up one day and things aren't where it should be. You find yourself needing to learn how to do even simple tasks all over again.

There isn't anyone on the planet who wouldn't find that a bit frustrating.

I'm with Slroth1 here. This change did not help me in any way. I'm not able to do what I used to do as easily and that diminishes the usefulness. It is frustrating because I have to use this software to manage my apple products. Thus I feel trapped. I no longer feel as though this is something I want to use; it has become something I have to use and because of that I'm going to complain when things aren't as good as they were.

I understand the need to innovate and I get that a new user may well love what is being pushed out. But long time users like me have a different perspective that is being ignored. It is frustrating.
