These apps have already been accepted

I reformatted my HD and had OS X Yosemite reinstalled. When I go to my "Purchases" page in the App Store I have a list of Apps to "Accept." However, when I click "Accept" and put my password in it tells me 'These apps have already been accepted" which is true. Under the list of 6 apps I have to accept it shows my purchases which includes those 6 apps. I can install and use them no problem. It is just a minor annoyance that whenever I look at the "Purchases" page I have this list of 6 apps it is telling me to accept, and there is no way to get this to go away.

MattAndersn - I have the exact same six apps as you, so I do not believe particular apps to accept makes a difference. As I said in my prior post, your screen shot in the original post is identical to my situation. We both have the same six apps that we are asked to accept. And identical to your screen shot, all six of mine have been successfully updated and are listed with the "open" button on the lower section of the screen.

I share everyone's frustration in getting rid of the prompt to accept apps that have already been accepted and associated with my Apple ID.

I also experienced this problem after upgrading to Yosemite. With me, it was imovie and iphoto. App Store says it needs accepting, yet after clicking accept and entering my Apple ID credentials, nothing happens i.e., the App Store merely says the two apps have already been accepted but the notification for accepting the two apps still remained. Imovie and iphoto appears to be updated though.User uploaded file

It seems that the problem with 2 apps not accepted is fixed for me, but I'm not sure which of my actions helped. Brief explanation of what I had before and what was done follows.

So, first thing to mention is that I replaced (upgraded) SSD in my MBP 13 Retina late-2013 with eBay purchased Apple SSD just in a few days before Yosemite came out. The SSD purchased had some Mavericks on it which I used to download Yosemite, then did an upgrade install (for the sake of upgrade of recovery partition), and than reparationed SSD and did a fresh install of Yosemite, where I ended up with the "Accept" issue we are discussing here...

Tried reinstalls from network several times, was swithing apple IDs, etc. - no luck.

Then what I did that was helpful:

1. created SD card with Yosemite install (was tired to wait for download) following the instructions on the internet meant for USB thumb - it worked for SD as well

2. Tried to perform SATA security erase of whole SSD without luck, then used Parted Magic to erase whole disk system structures (like GPT, EFI partition, etc.). Apple's disk utility is NOT doing that! The idea behind SSD erase was that maybe some IDs of another Mac was stored somewhere on my newly purchased SSD, which could lead to our issue

3. installed Yosemite from SD card, eliminating the need to provide Apple ID to download OS. Then does NOT provide my Apple ID during the whole installation.

4. After that I installed the only update available without signing in to App Store (its iTunes 12.0.1 as of now). And I was ignoring offer to turn on Auto Updates - was not pressing neither "Not Now" nor "Turn On"

5. rebooted

6. opened AppStore again, go to Purchases and signed in on this page (at last) to see the list of the purchases. One difference from previous attempts was that I put Apple ID in a case-sensitive manner. For instance, my Apple ID was registered long time ago as "John.Doe@somemail.com" and I used to put it as "john.doe@somemail.com", but on the last attempt I put it as originally created ("John.Doe@somemail.com")

Voila - it does not have that "Accept" anymore. Installing back my iMovie and iPhoto from AppStore now...

As the conclusion, most probable actions that solved the issue for me was either

- total cleanup of whole SSD, the thing cannot be done with Apple utility

- installation from local media (instead of internet install) withOUT providing my apple ID during the installation
- uppercase in my Apple ID that I used to ignore on all previous attempts

... or maybe Apple just fixed the issue while I was reinstalling that 🙂

please try this ideas one-by-one to find out which one did the trick. easiest to check is case sensitivity of Apple ID (if its applicable to you). then goes reinstall from local media w/o Apple ID. and the last one to try is clearing up your disk with external non-apple tools

I'm having the same problem with the annoying but otherwise harmless "accept" screen that never accepts with iPhoto and iMovie. The problem first surfaced for me while running one of the Yosemite public betas so I reported it to Apple as a bug. Since no loss of functionality occurs and others are reporting the issue, I'm sure Apple will put it in the queue for a future fix and roll out.

Just to add...the issue is unique to my mid-2011 iMac and does not occur on my 2014 MB Air. Reinstalling the affected apps or complete erasure of OSX using Internet Recovery does NOT solve the issue for me.
