Yosemite/LG 34UM95 missing 3440x1400 resolution

When running a 2012 Mac Mini with the latest version of OS X Mavericks, the LG 34UM95 was able to use the highest resolution of 3440x1400 over Thunderbolt. However, after updating to OS X Yosemite, the max resolution available is 2560x1080. Any thoughts why 3440x1400 is now missing? Thanks

after lots of of searching and uncertainty i can now confirm that although the MacBook Pro 17" late 2011 model I have doesnt work with a true thunderbolt cable, it DOES work at full 3440 x 1440 resolution through a mini displayport to standard display port cable. It plugs into the thunderbolt / dp port on the mac. I bought the cable off eBay and it carries the audio signal to the monitor too. Brilliant. this was a surprise as the video card doesn't say it supports such a high resolution. V. Happy with the monitor. Im running maverick or Yosemite (can't recall - l'll check when I get home.)

Hi Drujon.

I have identical MB Pro as you and want to confirm that this LG34UM95 monitor works with it no problem. Very keen to get this monitor but would be a bummer to unpack and find it's no good! Thanks

MacBook Pro (15-inch, Mid 2012)

2.7 GHz Intel Core i7

16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3

Intel HD Graphics 4000 1024 MB and NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M 1024 MB

It is interesting that that little extra i7 power enable your monitor to continue OK with early Yosemite
