Yosemite load failure "NSInternalinconsistencyException"

the download appears to be complete for me, that is, it says downloading 5.16 of 5.16gig, so im assuming its more or less complete, but, the status/progress bar still shows about 20% of something left to happen the final few mb happen quite slowly too.

my isp usage report seems to suggest the full 5.16 is downloaded each time.... The problem is obviously widespread, can anyone confirm a successful install on a pre mavericks imac?

Yeah think the error message means that 10.10 isn't supported on installing over 10.6.8. total Jip.

its supposed to be supported according to release notes...

is there any way to upgrade to mavericks first? I couldnt see it in the app store anymore

Does the download actually save anywhere so I don't have to wait again?

after its finished it's in the Applications folder, but before that it's in /users/name/library/app support/appstore/ some number. It appears as "Install OS X Yosemite.app" which has the install dmg and install mpkg within it.

it saves as a temp file but if you try to refresh it it'll delete, Which irked me immensely.

I'm having the same issue trying to upgrade from 10.6.8. Since it looks like I'm not alone, I suppose I'll just wait a few days and hope that Apple addresses the issue. This might be unrelated, but I seem to be "timed out" from the App store every time it crashes.

After several hours and multiple attempts to download the Yosemite OS from the App Store it consistently fails at the end of the download and gives me the error : NSInternalInconsistencyException

It appears that this may be a 10.6.8 specific issue?

Last attempted download was in safe mode, at 10:30am Pacific (10.17.14) and failed with same error.

Has anyone had any success? I'm about to buy Mountain Lion and see if that will help get me around this roadblock.

Same problem here. MacMini 2.53 Core 2 Duo. 4 GB DDR3. Currently running OS X 10.6.8.

The upgrade went smoothly on my MacBookPro, but I was upgrading to Yosemite from Mavericks on that machine.

Same problem with different error message at end of download, "cannot install the application".

Macbook Air, mid 2011, OS X 10.7.5

Multiple attempts at home (comcast, wifi).

One attempt at work (ethernet).

Is there anyway we can upgrade to Mavericks (then to Yosemite later) to get around this problem). I don't see Mavericks on the app store anymore

Anyone have a link for downloading the first Mavericks? Can only locate upgrade versions that won't install if you don't have the first one.

Yes, I think thats the problem, anything over 10.6 will upgrade smoothly to 10.10 But im also looking for mavericks too ! ***** that they brought it down, If anyone finds a solution please helppp

Tried that already, it's only the latest version of Mavericks 10.9.5 and it won't install unless you have at least 10.9, the original install or a previous release version of Mavericks.

Looking for a link for the original upgrade. It would be WONDERFUL given this bug if Apple could make that available, if even for a cost.
