iTunes 12.0.1 unable to update

BTW, I had this same problem but with iMovie. From the App store it wouldn't complete the download and continued to state an update was available. In my case, iMovie is not critical so I just keep trying over a few weeks and after about 15 attempts it worked. So, I'm only posting here because it may be a problem with the App store, not iTunes. Cheers.

This is my issue as well. I keep trying to download, and it quits before download completes. Now Mac App Store says I have installed 12.0.1 24 times, but there is still the option to download. And I am still at 12.0.0.

I have found that most of the weird issues that are happening with Yosemite are in fact down to the software being done as an upgrade.

I have now wiped x2 MBP and my iMac here and did fresh installs and not one of the weird issues has happened afterwards!

It's clear that there is something in the upgrade side that is not quite right, and is causing so many people so much grief.

So, if in doubt, a fresh install (after you backup your data) will see all the issue disappear (touch wood).

My iTunes icon continues to remain useless. To open iTunes, I am still required to navigate through all of the above mentioned steps. Has anyone else who restored their iOS found this to be the only successful solution. I would hate to spend the time restoring iOS only to discover the problem still exists.

If you have iTunes issues on auto updating do it the manual way - http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ just did it there myself and works fine now.

I am running yosemite, iTunes 12.01 is installed but I can not get it to run. I re-installed it, did permissions repair. I still can't get it to run ! HELP!

my iPhone4 has difficulties on battry when dis conect from charger even if the barrty is100% dis conected from charger the power is off from screen is that batry or soft ware?

Same problem here in Germany. Update is downloading several times and still there open to update in the AppStore...
