Final Cut and Yosemite

IIf it's an AU plugins conflict? Nothing I know of except remove them.

Success! There were 2 items in the library folder. I trashed the one saying "Final Cut Pro.saved.moduleLayout" and kept the other. An error message did come up saying 2 incompatible au files and then it exempted them from the load. It's up and running fine now. Thanks for your help my friend. 🙂

Hi! How did you do that? Where did you find the library folder? (because I have the same problem and I can't even open the final cut).

In the Finder hold Option and look in the Go menu. Nicely hidden.

As some know, beta 1 of "Yosemite" does not work with many app's, one of which are the Final Cut Pro X app's. Here's a simple fix that got them all running:

- Open Applications folder

- Right click on "Show Package Contents"

- Open "Contents" then the "MacOS" folder

- Double click on "Final Cut Pro"

The terminal window will appear, let it run, and it should be working without any troubles.

Should also work for Compressor, Motion, and iMovie.

Other app's I cannot launch are EyeTV, BetterTouchTool (although the developer knows the issue and has a fix in the works for today), TotalSpaces2, and a few others.

Just upgraded to Yosemite and noticed that Final Cut doesn't open any more. Found some helpful advices on line with going to library, folder contents

Open Applications folder

- Right click on "Show Package Contents"

- Double click on "Final Cut Pro"

It starts loading for a few seconds... when it starts restoring window layout all of the sudden it quits!! What could be done about that? I could't find anything like that here.

This is obsolete information, just like Tom said.

What you need to do is update to the current version, 10.1.3.

Final cut was out before the App Store. In fact, I have Final Cut Pro 2 for my iMac G3 DV/Slot Loading Running OS 9.2.2. You could buy it on DVD and upgrade when the App store came out.

Also, I have the same problem.

WHat problem is that? This is the Final Cur Pro X forum. You're using different software that has no relationship to FCPX except a similarity in name.

Final Cut Pro X won't open on my Mac, and I'm just saying that Final Cut was out before the Mac App Store. Actually it is very related, it was Final Cut before Final Cut X (the X stands for 10 or version 10, meaning that it is so related that it was a previous version). Mind Blown.

THe two applications bear no relationship except the name. You should know that if you've used them both and know anything.

AS for FCPX not opening, what have you tried? Trash your preferences? Repaired permissions? Try those first.

Tried the trash thing no help at all.
