usb mouse not working with Yosemite, help!

Just installed Yosemite on my Mac mini (Late 2012, 2.3 GHz Intel Core i&, 4GB memory). Yosemite appears to have installed correctly, but my USB logitech mouse is no longer working. I've been using this wireless Logitech mouse+keyboard combo for years without problems. The model number is CE0682. The combo has a receiver which plugs into a single USB port on the Mac mini, and pairs with both a wireless keyboard + wireless mouse. The keyboard works fine but the mouse doesn't respond at all. I've tried replacing the batteries, even though they reported as good, and tried repairing, even though the keyboard working indicates there was no need for it. When I unplug and replug the receiver, it is clear that Yosemite recognizes that I've removed and replugged in a mouse. (I was able to open the System Preferences -> Mouse panel by using Screen Sharing from a laptop running Yosemite, and use a remote mouse that way. With the Mouse system preference page open, when I unplug and replug in the mouse, the preference page clearly indicates there is no mouse attached then that there is a mouse attached.) I've also tried plugging in the receiver to a Mac laptop running Yosemite and again the keyboard works but the mouse doesn't.

I've been reading theses solutions with great interest as I too suffer from the erratic behavior of my Logitech Nano VX mouse. Here's a solution that I literally just stumbled on that may help someone. My mouse came with a USB extension cable (I suppose any USB cable extension would do). I had originally placed the USB receiver on the left side of my MacBook Pro and when I upgraded to the new MacBook Pro with Yosemite, I put it in the same place which yielded a wireless mouse that just would not behave. so I placed the receiver into the extension, placed it directly in front of the mouse and the mouse is, so far behaving appropriately. I'm hoping that it continues to do so until Logitech or Apple or both can figure this thing out. Hope this helps.

I'm having the same issues with SteerMouse that I'm having with my Logitech Unifying drivers for my M570 Wireless Trackball. Both my Logitech drivers and SteerMouse do what they're supposed to do. I haven't had any problems whatsoever with getting my input devices to work, but they're interfering with a USB digital audio converter (DAC) that I have connected to it. Whenever I use one of the mouse buttons that I have mapped to a keystroke, my audio skips. If is press those mapped mouse buttons a few times in rapid succession, my DAC will crash and I'll have no sound until I either turn it off and back on again or I switch my sound output in the Sound Preferences to something else and back again.

It's definitely the drivers that are doing this and not the devices themselves. I use SteerMouse to drive some high end mice that I have that don't have Mac drivers. Since I started running into problems, I went into my Windows partition to properly configure one of these mice in Windows so I can stop using Steermouse and the audio/USB problems disappeared.

I had the Logitech m705 plugged into a USB 3.0 hub. I was experiencing massive and inconsistent lag, the mouse would work fine for a little while and then become unusable. I removed the unifying receiver and plugged into a side usb port on the MBP and the lag disappeared. The hub only had USB 2.0 devices attached to it. It became very apparent just how much lag there was after the unifying receiver was plugged directly into the MBP.

I hope this issue is fixed since I only use the mouse when the MBP is in its Henge Dock.

Late 2013 27" iMac with OS X 10.10.3

Using Performance Mouse MX

The 'unifying software' never recognized an attached USB mouse, BUT

the Logitech Preference manager functioned just fine

...until just now

It sees the mouse, reports battery status

but WILL NOT configure

Well, everything BUT mouse tracking speed has already been configured - I wanted to bump up the tracking speed as I've gotten used to the higher sensitivity.

Tried restarting (just for the heck of it?)

The Logitech software is at its current level. (not backrev'd)

-shrug-

I have the receiver plugged into a port on my additional Thunderbolt monitor - which I believe are USB 2.0 ports.

Already had tried USB 3.0 previously.

All buttons functioning as configured (Copy, Paste, Select ALL, Delete)

Would be nice if the unifying software would 'see' the mouse, though!!!

I suspect this is Apple's fault - not Logitech's!

Apple wireless mouse in Yosemite behaving erratically, all of these were factors:

1. Over time, tension in battery terminals diminishes, causing intermittent connection - insert piece of foil beneath base of each battery.

2. Repair disk permissions in Disk Utility.

3. In Bluetooth settings on toolbar, disconnect mouse and reboot.

3. Try alternative mousepad, using solid black neoprene "Steelseries" pad, somehow affects optical signal.

I have OS X 10.10.5 and have this problem as well. I have a Microsoft Natural keyboard and Logitech Trackman trackball connected to a USB 3 hub that is plugged into my mid 2014 15" MBP. I spoke with Apple Genius Bar phone support on Friday, did a full PRAM and SMC reset, and the problem persists. Console logs show USB connection problems. Worst case scenario for me and I loose my laptop keyboard and track pad as well, necessitating a hard-reboot. Some indications that uninstalling the Logitech Control Center (3.9.2 which is the latest) might solve the problem, but I haven't tried that yet.

Console log may provide more insight into the problem: look for events near the point in time when your mouse is plugged in and again when it stops working. For me it works for 5-30 seconds, then stops. I can un-plug and re-plug the USB hub in and eventually it will keep working.
