Maps not working after Yosemite Upgrade?

Just upgraded to Yosemite last night and everything seemed fine until I tried to use maps, which won't load and is just showing a blank grid. Internet connection is fine so it's not a connectivity issue but address searches yield no results and using the home GPS button just brings up the blue dot on a grey grid. Didn't have any problems before the upgrade. Toggling between Map and Satellite view doesn't yield any difference.

I have logged a full report with Apple, and haven't heard anything yet.I check news on bug fixes and updates on various credible online sites, and haven't really heard much about this problem, either.I have had maps work a few times since my original post, but it's random, and seems to be unstable.I hope they'll either address this,or all will be fixed quietly in the next major update.

I resolved my “phantom window” problem by trashing all the contents of

~/Library/Containers/com.apple.Maps

which contained aliases to seemingly non-Maps-related folders and files.

After trashing them, the main Maps window appeared again, and so far has been working normally.

I notice that the com.apple.Maps folder is now populated again with aliases to Desktop, Documents,Downloads, Library (contents are aliased), Movies, Music & Pictures.

I was tipped off to this by Matt Austin of tunabelly.com (makers of Disk Diet). Hats off to him for giving me an idea of where Maps’ files are kept (they are sandboxed, so not deleted by Disk Diet).

I hope this solves your issue as well.
