Windows 7 partition gone after installing Yosemite

Can start a new thread and post the output of the following commands on the new thread?

diskutil list

diskutil cs list

sudo gpt -vv -r show /dev/disk0

sudo fdisk /dev/disk0

Once you have the new thread created, post a link to it on this thread.

same here with my windows 8.1 that had some somewhat important files on it, Some stuff I had worked on, and my encrypted archive that I can never get back now..... perhaps they could give some warning, I didn't back up anything assuming my windows partition would be safe from file loss.....

If the current state is as it was post-Yosemite upgrade, a recovery can be attempted.

I do not have this problem. But I have another issue that maybe caused by the same thing. I can use my windows 7 but I want to reinstall windows 7 to the original win7 partition. However, when I used the flash disk that created by BOOT CAMP ASSISTANT and had successfully loaded the win7 installation file, everything was good. But when I went to the step to select a partition to install the win7 I could not find any of them. The whole disk was not readable.

If you removed Windows using Bootcamp Assistant, then it removes the partition as well. If the partition was removed without using Bootcamp Assistant, then you have a mismatched GPT/MBR causing problems. Please post the output of

diskutil list

Same problem as everyone else... Apple needs to repair this or I will never buy their products again.

Please start a new thread with the output from the Commands that are mentioned in this thread. A recovery attempt can be made based on the output of your commands. The acrimony towards Apple should be directed via Feedback. 😉

Can you post this information on a new thread and post a reference to the new thread here? Your GPT and MBR both look incorrect. You have two MS Data partitions. What version of Windows was installed on this Mac? Was it installed using EFI Boot?
