new x yosemite doesn't support airport utilities.....
AirPort Utility is already built into Yosemite. What version of AirPort Utility are you asking about here?
time capsule doesn't work.....
You mean to say that the Time Capsule won't power up?
If not, then what exactly doesn't work? We will need to rely on your description for details, since our crystal ball is broken and we cannot see your network.
I too am having this issue when I connect my time capsule to my fios router and go into utility it does not show my time capsule. However when I go to fios security it sees my time capsule and says that it is operating in bridge mode.
Having the same problem. Resetting or restarting to no avail.
I have rather old machines, 2007 Macbook Pro and 2008 Time Capsule.
No. I don't have guest network. Using just the main network. Seems a lot of people is facing it since beta versions of Yosemite. Really sad that Apple didn't fix it before the final version.
I have reset my TC, I tried plugging the TC into my FIOS router and then into my mac mini and I get nothing. When I open airport utility it says that there are no configurable Airport base stations available. This is very irritating as I have some files that I would like to restore from time machine
That's correct. This is the issue that we are facing here.
No one has some contact with Apple folks in order to get a status if they are working in to fix it soon?
If you can access the TC via Airport Utility, go to it's settings, then Disk, and make sure that "Share disks over WAN" is checked. That fixed the problem for me!
I wish I could do that but time capsule doesn't even show up in airport utility for me. Funny thing though when I go to my fios router site it shows that the time capsule is working in bridge mode. Not sure what to do, I have reset, restarted (everything) but nothing works.
@nickradford This is the issue. We can't access the TC via Airport Utility in Yosemite Mac OS. By iPhone, by iPad, even by a other Mac with a different version from Yosemite we can access the Airport Utility.
The WiFi is working correctly. Even if I map the time capsule drive by their IP, I can see my files. But, I can't access the TC by Airport Utility and the Time Machine backup can't find either.
Same here. I have tried everything. Even reset to Factory Defaults and start the config from zero, but, Airport Utility in Yosemite OS didn't find it.
This is the issue. We can't access the TC via Airport Utility in Yosemite Mac OS.
Maybe try accessing the TC via the AirPort Utility’s File —> Configure Other… menu option, using the TC’s IP address (typically 10.0.1.1) and its password.
Yes. I did it. You can access the configuration by this way, but, it didn't set the TC in the Airport Utility, the TC didn't appear in Finder Folder and the Time Machine still didn't found the TC driver. So strange. Looks it is a kind of issue in some protocol, etc.
Same here. No connection possible with my Time Capsule after installing Yosemite. tried everything.
My story feels similar to others posting here:
Ever since updating to Yosemite, my iMac (late 2009) has been losing its internet connection. When the computer is restarted or I log in to the computer, the internet connection is fine. But a few minutes later - say, less than 10 minutes - the connection gets dropped and stays dropped. Our internet is distributed from a cable modem to an AirPort Time Capsule base station. Other devices in the household (two iPhones and an iPad and a MacBook Pro [running Mavericks]) stay on the internet just fine. Only the iMac loses connectivity. I’ve tried restarting the cable modem. But, since the other computers on the network are not suffering from dropped internet, it can’t be the modem. I’ve also performed a hard reset on the AirPort Time Capsule. This worked for about 3-5 minutes, then the connection dropped and, as usual, the following message appeared next to the AirPort Time Capsule icon in AirPort Utility:
“(AirPort Time Capsule Name) was previously part of your network. Check that it is still in range of your network and is plugged into a power outlet. Forgetting this device removes it from this network.”
I am having the same problem with Airport Utility after installing Yosemite. Network printers are invisible too:
I am connected to my time capsule by ethernet cable. I am experiencing a regular issue where the wake from sleep for homesharing isn't working, usually after the mac has been woken from sleep then returns to sleep. What follows this is that the airport utility then cannot see the time capsule, it reports it is gone from the network despite being plugged directly into it!
I have to reset the network, either by rebooting the time capsule or swapping to wi-fi and then back to the ethernet cable. Yosemite has DEFINITELY broken something here because it all worked on Mavericks fine. I can also duplicate this on both a mac mini and macbook air.
