IMovie won't upgrade on Yosemite

Hi, yesterday I bought a new Macbook pro 13 - Retina 256Gb. I upgraded it today to Yosemite, I wanted to start IMovies after the update, but it does't start - it says: "You can´t use this version of the application "IMovie" with this version of OS X" You have "IMovie" 10.0.3." - telling me basically to update the application.

But here comes the problem, after I installed Yosemite I cannot upgrade any "ILife" application on Appstore. I get the message: "Update Unavailable with this Apple ID This update is not available for this Apple ID either because it was bought by a different user or the item was refunded or cancelled."

This is the screenshot:

I must also add that I CAN download other things on Appstore (with the same Apple ID) + I signed in on this forum also with the same Apple ID. Can anybody help me?!

No, still no idea what to do. Now I also have problems with the latest

update 10.10.1, when my iMac does a restart as part of the installation

process it freezes with a white screen, I have tried everything but the

only fix that works is Cmd R and use time machine to rebuild from a backup.

I'm pulling my hair out, I've had the Mac from new I. Mid 2010 and never

had a problem before.

It finally worked me today too. Not sure why unless it's because of the overall upgrade to Yosemite that I installed the other day. They must have included a patch in that which made it possible to upgrade iMovie now. Of course, the new version took *much* longer to open now, and it's apparently going to take *hours* to update all the projects and events I had open. I'm really disappointed with Yosemite so far. Besides all this hassle, pretty much everything has gotten much slower now too, even just simply saving a picture from online to my desktop. Wish I'd never upgraded. :-(

Okay, I don't see any way to edit my last post here so I had to start a new one. The new version of iMovie that I finally got downloaded finally finished updating all of my previous projects and events, and I was shocked to find that the new version was absolutely completely different from the one I'd been using before. Everything was so totally different, it was like an entirely different program. I had to search the net to find a way to switch back to the old version and doing that took forever too! Just thought I'd warn you all because if I had known this was going to happen, I never would have even attempted to upgrade it at all. Don't install the new version unless you want to learn a whole new program all over again. And someone please remind Apple that, if it ain't broke, don't fix it!

So, this may not work for you but I was having the same issue on my new macbook pro. I've had apple devices since... well for a while and so have multiple devices associated with my account and also have family sharing on now as well so I assumed the issue I was running into was iCloud related since... everything apple related is (I work in IT). Long winded intro aside, I found that I first had to open the applications in question and agree to the terms or some random part of the set up and then was able to download and install the program via the app store without issue.

Hope this helps!

I had this issue for a LOONGGGG time. I couldn't find the fix after countless hours and I read a bunch of pages from this forum. I tried everything and nothing worked. I found out that my apps were actually connected to a different account. This is kind of un-true I guess. But it was when I changed the email of my apple ID. Now I think apple thinks that it is two different apple ID's because I can use both as seperate accounts. I just had to figure which account I was in and then I figured out that it Did show in the purchased list and I am updating it now. Thanks for everyone that tried to help and I hope this somewhat helps some of you.
