iphone 6 verizon shipping delay

A family member of mine nicely waited in line to get me an iPhone 6+ on the release day (Sep,17) and not surprisingly, the store sold out in like 2 hrs. That same day the store placed an order for my phone, and I suppose I am at the whim of whenever they receive a new shipment of phones. It's now a month later and no phone, what gives apple? Has anyone else who ordered from Verizon on the 17th received a 6+, is there any way to track when it might be delivered?


My 4S is crapping out on me, it's as if it knows it's going to be replaced soon, so i'd love for this phone to arrive. Seems Apple doesn't grasp the fundamental aspects of supply and demand? Surely their market research informed them how hot this phone was going to be...my theory is that this monumental delay/low supply is REALLY about increasing the Apple mystique.


Would love to hear from anyone else with a similar experience.

I walked in a Verizon store on 10/6 and ordered the iPhone 6 Plus grey 128GB and was told after the transaction was in there system that my shipping date would be Oct 31st. I almost fainted that I would have to wait 3 and a half weeks! Then today, the 31st, I get the dreaded email from Verizon saying that their supply has not met their demand and my new shipping date is to be Nov 21st! That's another 3 weeks! ARRGGGG!


Now, I just read NoRegrets post and I'm going to go to Apple Store tomorrow and try this tactic. I don't have anything to lose, really. I'll let you know what happens.

I Received the same email late yesterday and almost lost my ****. Instead I canceled my order after checking that it was in stock at every Best Buy in this area. My ship date was moved to the 7th. I walked out of Best Buy with it yesterday and 2 free cases. I am with no regrets DO NO BUY FROM VERIZON!!!!!! **** all the Sprint stores in this area have them in stock as well.

I ordered the 64gb gold (regular, not plus) from Verizon on 10/11 and have had the same kind of issues everyone else is having. I called the store a bunch of times and as of today they told me a shipment was just sent out from China and they're still not sure of an exact date. I'm guessing it'll be another couple weeks based on what everyone's saying. When I read the posts above about Best Buy and Apple having immediate availability, I looked into going that route. I called two Best Buys and Apple and it's not available anywhere. Apparently the 64gb (non-Plus) phones are in way higher demand than the other sizes so they're taking longer to ship. So if that's the one you're looking for, you probably still have a good wait ahead of you. However, my sister ordered the same exact phone as me on the same day from another store about 40 minutes away and she just got a confirmation email today that it was en route from PA and is scheduled to arrive 11/5. Not sure how that happened, but I guess it is possible to get lucky... Anyway, I'm never gonna order from Verizon again. They're a total **** show.

received an interesting email from verizon: "they were unable to take payment"...they gave me a number to call, so they re-processed my credit card, and "successfully" completed the transaction (i've used my credit card at least 100 times since i placed the initial order). i was told yesterday that the order would ship today, but alas -- no email confirmation. i called the number the provided and asked for the supervisor, and when i was given the "ship date" of 11/14, i of course blew a gasket. Hilariously, this was his exact response: "we are at apple's mercy...this iphone has been a complete disaster, and we have no choice but to give our customers the information apple provides us"


when i asked "so you are placing the blame on apple" he said "that's not what i'm saying"....can anyone figure out what he's saying then?

after much anticipation, the phone finally came...nice product, nothing mind blowing -- faster than my 4S that's for sure, and some nice bells and whistles...


either way -- i suppose our collective patience eventually is rewarded...


couple of notes:

1) if you're trading in your old phone, make SURE you turn off "find my phone"

2) it only took me 5 minutes to restore my new 6 from my old 4S (i used itunes as i'm not interested in paying apple for cloud space)

3) make sure you return your old phone within 7 days

4) for anyone with unlimited data on verizon, the minute u switch, the unlimited data is gone...

I ordered my iPhone 6 Plus on October 25th. My shipment date was 11/14 and it came and went with no shipment. I called Verizon and they had postpned my order with no email or anyway of letting me know. My new shipment date is 12/5. 3 weeks after the original! I wouldn't be surprised if it got pushed back farther. Too fed up with Verizon. Especially when people are walking into stores and getting them. Never ordering from Verizon ever again.
