I have the new Safari 8.0 with OS X Yosemite. I can not clear history without also clearing cookies. With Maverick it was possible to clear history and keep cookies, not now. This is NOT an improvement! Is there a way to keep cookies and clear history?

I waited for MAC to fix the mess before downloading Yosemite. What happened? Zero! Apple has become Microsoft with 1,000 steps instead of 1 click. Thanks, Carolyn for the tip.

When you go under the SAFARI menu in Safari - hold down OPTION key.
This will change the CLEAR HISTORY to a special CLEAR that doesn't get rid of all the logins etc.
You will even see it states as much in the dialog that clarifies what you are attempting to do.
Also OPTION key in any menu - will show you LOTS of options you never knew existed - ;o
I.E. Save AS... which was hidden years back can be recovered with option. ENJOY
