Bluetooth problem with OSX Yosemite: Magic Mouse and Keyboard

Is this spurious suggestion serious or is it meant satirically? We are talking bluetooth here - turning wifi on or off has nothing to do with it. One might as well suggest turning the bathroom light off and on,

Apple must fix this problem. Full stop. Period. Der punkt.

Well maybe I was just lucky but it did show immediately after I turned wifi off, and I had tried to connect for >10 minutes before.

How is this a solution? My problem with Bluetooth in Yosemite is mainly to do with the sound delay in my headphones while using Skype, which I connect to using wifi. I have gone back to Mavericks, where Bluetooth works fine.

Are you serious?, Have you ever read about electromagnetic interferences? For example: http://www.ecnmag.com/articles/2012/03/wi-fi-and-bluetooth-coexistence

This is really an annoying problem with Bluetooth! Wifi, HDD and all the other items mentioned in this thread were working perfectly fine on my MBP late 2013.

It just doesn't work anymore with Yosemite...

Keyboard keeps reconnecting every 5 minutes or so, audio over bluetooth is unstable once in a while and the Magic Mouse is slow.

Seems that Apple needs to update Yosemite as they did for iOS8 --> iOS8.1...

Wifi works fine and all the other things. I'm saying if you have problem with bluetooth try to switch off the wifi and see if bluetooth starts to work correctly 🙂

Wifi and bluetooth do interfere, which is an even worse problem with the 2013 macbook airs (I do, google it if you have one). The problem is drastically worse on Yosemite than Mavericks. There is definitely a software component to this.

The same for me, working fine form some minutes (after your actions) and now is the same when I'm working with the battery

This is not a laptop/battery problem. I am working on a desktop iMac. I have the same problem with Bluetooth.

Can people get it into their heads that this problem lies with Apple and its implementation of Bluetooth in Yosemite. No amount of workarounds will work until Apple fix it. We’ve seen any amount of workarounds here – 100% of them have not worked (or have worked, but then after a day or so, stopped working).

Apple must fix this.

got the same issue, upgraded to yosomite and now my bluetooth doesn't recognize any new devices or connect to my current ones. thats a bummer. have a MBP Mid 2012

hope apple fixes this issue soon, need it asap.

I have a imac as well, and same bluetooth issue. bummer that I can't connect my apple bluetooth or magic mouse, or any accessories for that matter. I need to use hard wired 3rd party keyboards. bummer. apple PLEASE FIX

Yup my bluetooth speaker which worked just fine with Mavericks isn't connecting (or is connecting only very intermittently) with Yosemite. I tried switching off the wifi, and it picked it up fine. Weird....

I got the exact same Bluetooth connection problem with Apple's own Magic Mouse after updating to OSX Yosemite.
If the problem was already reported by people in the Beta version stadium, why is it not fixed before releasing the public version?

It's really annoying. I hope Apple will fix this problem very soon!

Same here: 15" MacPro Juli 2014, Iphone 5s, iPad AIR owner, NO BLUETOOTH working! I am going back to my previous SW version this doesn't bring anything for me only irritation and waste of time. Poorly tested, Released to fast, and Damaging for apples reputation. Solution should be provided by APPLE , not by the community and so called 'workarounds' appear hardly to be working. APPLES HW is way to expensive to have to deal with this kind of misery. Won't make the mistake of upgrading to fast again EVER.
