Hi Bill. My Outgoing Server setup:
Mail > Preferences > Accounts > [select the Telus mail account] > Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) > Edit SMTP server list > [select the Telus mail server]
Under the Account Information tab:
Description: Telus
Server name: smtp.telus.net
TLS Certificate: None
Under the Advanced tab:
[un-checked] Automatically detect and maintain account settings
Port: 1025
[un-checked] Use SSL
Authentication: Password
User name: [my Telus account]
Password: [my Telus email password]
I think this only works when I'm actually connected to the Telus network. If I'm somewhere else, I usually have to connect to my work email SMTP server.
