Trying to join tracks together in an Audiobook but cannot find anyway to do this in iTunes 12 - I know it was possible in 11, did Apple remove this function in 12 or is it just really well hidden?

Join Together is a stand alone application. It does not require iTunes.

I found the way to do it. Make sure they are in order by track# (not really needed) then Highlight ALL the songs (CTRL-A) then you can select "Options to "JOIN TRACKS", will appear!!

Yes. I posted how to do it 13 months go on the 1st page.
You need to select the CD to join tracks using iTunes.
Note that this thread changed and someone wanted to combine tracks that are already.

I have an mp3 CD of The Moon Is A Harsh Mistress and it doesn't show up on the bar in iTunes 12.3.2.35 even though regular music CDs do when inserted in the drive. It does show up on the desktop. So can't see tracks (in iTunes) to select header to activate menu to choose "Join." And not looking forward to copy and paste 86 times in Amadeus Pro 2.2. Goal is to stick the files together so I can put the book text into the Lyrics tab and follow along.
You don't need to rip Mp3 CDs, instead you can use File > Add Folder to Library, or drag the files using Finder into <Media Folder>/Automatically Add to iTunes.

Sorry for the late post to this, but can you share the 3rd party software you used, I have several audiobooks with tracks I want to combine.
This thread is not about linking tracks so they behave as an album, but merging a number of different tracks into a single file so they behave better as audiobook.

The Join CD tracks option only appears if the CD is sorted on the left-most column of numbers in ascending order and two or more consecutive tracks are selected.
