Ahh sorry I see that the forums here show you who you were replying to.
None of those steps listed in @jacquelinefromlongbeach's exist on my MBP so not sure where the information is coming from.
So text message forwarding isn't working on either of your OSX devices? Both macbooks and your iPhone are on latest OS?
Try signing out from your account on iMessages on your macbook. Then send a test text from a google voice number or another device. Then sign back in, and try enabling text message forwarding.
