safari iOS 8.1 freeze and slow

Hello,

i have same problems with ios 8.1 with my Ipad3. when the Google search shows me the results, the blue links does not respond when I tap. Safari was as if frozen. I have to drag the page up or down so that the link becomes active again. Further the application is very slow. Today I tried iPad Air it was same thing !!!!

the problem persists since updating iOS8.0.0. I am very disappointed with Apple.

Of course Apple do read these forums but don't engage. How can they?

To respond with "this is not a problem" or "this is affecting a very small number of devices" would be an OUTRIGHT LIE and open them up to manner of problems.

To respond with "we are aware of this problem and working on rectifying this" would be an admission they'd f*€¥ed up! - which Apple NEVER EVER do!

A hangover from the SJ era.

I Am sad to see that this has been going on so long with no FIX. I have been having the same problem and hoped to find a fix on this forum but all I see is a lot of upset people that are getting nowhere with Apple. So crappy. I have been a faithful Apple customer for a long time and can't believe that they haven't FIXED this yet. i guess I'll turn off my icloud, reset, delete my apps, refresh, and hope something helps. Thanks Apple

Not many years computers came with install disks for the operating system. If you upgraded the operating system and had problems you could always go back by wiping the system clean and reinstalling from the disks that came with the computer.

Apple has taken this control away from us.

By the way there are even worse problems with the iPhone. For example, on certain makes and years of cars it is no longer posible to place calls hands frre with SIRI. With iOS 7 it worked fine.

For what it's worth here's my opinion -

I think we're all pretty well agreed that Safari under iOS 7.x ran fast and Safari under iOS 8.x runs slow?

I was never convinced of the notion that this was all a ploy by Apple to force hardware upgrades on users - so what is it all about?

Like Geoff37 I believe it's a race between manufactures to be leader of the pack and is all down to poor and sloppy coding in the scramble to be top dog.

The reason iPad Air 2s and iPhone 6s show no appreciable degradation in speed is due to the fact they have enough horsepower with the A8 chip to process the poor and sloppy coding that much faster than lesser models.

So, Apple, just write some decent code - We know you can do it because you did in iOS 7.x

Agreed. The big boys in the industry need to all calm down and restore some sensible balance between quality control and marketing deadlines.i have become increasingly wary of buying the latest gizmo after being repeatedly burnt, and i am not just talking about Apple. We seem to be in an over development stage with phones and tablets with more and more stupid features that damage the original basic functionallity.

Let us hope there will now be time for fixes and consolidation before the next super device hits the stores.

Whoa..... A squadron of pigs has just flown over!
